Great Podcast guys, I was really looking forward to this one.

About the Air and Space/Desert Boneyard transition:

The Museum is located out near Dulles Airport which is more or less out in the sticks as far as the DC area is concerned. So for them to go out of the back of the museum and find empty plains backed by mountains isn't that far fetched. The Airplane graveyard and the fact the ground was the wrong color I'll give you that.

About the Twins and other stereotypes:

Agree on the whole "youth subculture" rather than "raical" stereo types. In watching G1 again they had slight issues with this also but it wasn't as over the top as these guys were. Maybe it's the PG versus PG-13 rating.

My question is what exactly did the third writer contribute to the movie? It sounded like he was Bay's private script doctor putting in all of the sight gags that really didn't add anything to the movie, like the dog humping.

I'm suprised no one really talked about Alice the pretender at all.

Overall... I'm not sure I'd want to watch the movie all the way through again. Just watch the scenes that are fun to watch. Which is my opinion on the first Transformers movie.

There were a bunch more things we wanted to talk about it, but Vangelus suddenly decided "The End!" :lol  It was getting a little long though.

I'm not going to touch the racist side of the debate, really. I honestly think it's purely the media desiring blood. They like that sort of thing. If the media can find a generally accepted topic and there's a flaw no one is going to care about but could be viewed as a hot button issue, like racism or religion, then they will hit it, expound on it and completely attack it in large scale. They've done it in the past innumerably and will forever do it in the future.

On the illiteracy issue though I will say this. It's unlike a Transformer to not be able to read. That's something that doesn't make much sense. They've had silly characters and wannabes in the past but they weren't illiterate. I think Gogdog was right, the twins were Michael Bay's favorite characters despite what he says, because they were his creation. He felt the movie needed them. Really Sunstreaker and Sideswipe would have been more entertaining to see doing the brother bit than the twins were. They'd've been much better roles and they could have read. Despite being a kids show, they never insulted the viewing audience by making characters that kids may potentially identify with as being illiterate. It's out of character for the franchise. I can't recall one series that had a Transformer who was illiterate, if I'm wrong and there is an example, correct me please.

Are you going to find a way to work Homicidal Prime into the end of one of your youtube videos ?

To comment on the whole "hatchling" thing, I actually remember Starscream saying something about how they would more or less keep dieing after "birth" and without energon that was just going to keep happening.

So the way I took it, the hatchling plot point was basically the main motivation of the Decepticons to get the matrix and fire up that sun harvester. You know, aside from the Fallen's little spiteful "revenge".

I'm also so happy that Gog and Vangelus basically share my own opinon on the whole Twins issue. And though I liked the characters, I do agree with Seth and Omegus, that they were lazily contrived characters, from a writing standpoint.

    The worst part about Sideways death is the fact that all his bios say that he hates fighting and is only a messenger. WHY KILL HIM ;_;

Squeeee! Omegus gave a callout to my word "constructicles"! :D  :D

At least, I think I coined it; I certainly believe I was the first person to use it on TFW, at least. In any case, I'm demanding royalties! :p

Just to further heap praise on the team for that podcast. Homicidal Prime was the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. Except for some recent Kat Williams stuff but still...

The little Knife-a-tron guy, I personally dubed "Shanky".

Yeah, I would have loved to hear what you guys had to say about the Alice pretender character. But maybe that goes to show just how forgetable she really was.

"Knife-a-tron" as this podcast calls him..is actually named "Reedman"
    http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Reedman
Reedman is the form taken by a swarm of ball bearing bots when they combine together. The combined form is razor-thin, allowing for nigh-invisibility when seen from certain angles.

When the name "Reedman" appeared in the film's credits, everyone was mightily confused, because it doesn't soundlike a Transformer's name. While the Nintendo DS Revenge of the Fallen: Decepticonsvideo game would quickly confirm that Reedman was this razor-thin rapscallion a few days after the film's premiere, the name still stands out as odd; it's probably a similar scenario to "Wheelbot" and "Skipjack", where rough, silly-sounding preliminary names were included in the film's credits. The difference here is that Hasbro didn't provide a "proper" name for Reedy.

Overkill sounds better and it even sort of fits the character.

I wonder if "Reedman" died along with Ravage or if he somehow escaped.
