I love how I unintentionally undercut Vangelus. Vangelus: EH, after 10 years of collecting since Car Robots, I don't think the quality between Takara and Hasbro is any different, just grass is greener, etc. GogDog: It's nice to get to pay $15 extra to get higher quality toys, because make no mistake, Takara-Tomy's stuff is higher quality. I didn't even hear him say that. With regard to that, I was mostly talking about stuff like the paint apps, which are usually better/ more accurate (Henkei Dinobot and Ratchet) and stuff like Binaltech vs Alternators. Like Aaron, I agree that the actual figures themselves are not any different and if you just want a mold for engineering sake, Hasbro products will do you just fine.
Does more accurate necessarily equal better as a whole? It seems more like a personal preference thing.
No, but more paints apps and painted plastic vs unpainted plastic does equal higher quality. I agree with you, it's all personal preference. I actually like Universe Ratchet more than the Henkei version, but I do think the Henkei version is higher quality. Even higher quality doesn't necessarily mean better as a whole, as the price difference often times is not worth it.
Dang. As I was listening to the group part of the answer, I laughed at how everyone had already said what I had to say... without the ramble.
I agree with Gogdog. Not a Furman fanboy, but I enjoyed his story much more than AHM's story. Seth is depressed about everything, but for once I get him.
again expressing my gratitude for answering my questions :] something else i was thinking about, it would be cool to see hasbro cater to us collecters and give us something other than an expinsive re-paint. maybe an annual collaboration with takara is all im asking LOL! - thanks again!
While I don't think that anyone is going to say that they wouldn't like a new great exclusive item, the problem comes in that we are such a small portion of the sales power that is is hard to justify it on the corporate level. Collectors/Adult fans are figured to be between 10-15 percent of the total sales.
