I've actually had that same kind of dream Vangelus has mentioned; particularly when the Prime: First Edition line was originally cancelled.
I'm a little surprised no one mention about the Unite Warrior Grand Scourge comic yet. The fact that in the comic Grand Scourge forced Menasor apart, and the proceed to take the Stunticons limbs for his own JUST LIKE how Vangelus imagined all the rogue (or non standard combiner team) torso and limbs characters would play out!
I talked about it a bunch on twitter I think, so I'd gotten all my thoughts out of my head already haha What I really like in the book is that he attaches the arms, and then their placement switches in-time with his 180 degree waist spin to finish turning into torso mode.
To me, the greatest bit is when Grand Scourge just grab Drag Strip, force it into his combiner socket to make the arm, then proceed to literally stomp his feet onto Breakdown and Wild Rider's head to force them into his limbs. It's as if he don't really treat them as anything sentient, "Oh, you can turn into big limbs for me. YOU ARE MINE NOW!"
I just really hope they integrate the "more limbs than necessary = quick scramble city swapping fighting style" that was envisioned when quickslinger was announced.
Sorry for coming back to the topic at random interval, but I was watching Dai-Guard ripping its own arm off to chuck it at an monster as a make-shift rocket punch... ... then suddenly, I imagine Superion with something like 5 to 6 spare limb bots, where he launch his arm at Menasor shouting "ROCKET PUNCH!!!", get the next limb bot in place, and repeat the process again...
Energon was actually where I entered the franchise. It was already in the 6:30 am Cartoon Network slot by then, and I still can't remember if I started at the climax of the first time they fought Unicron only to go into a wormhole and do it again, or if it was the second time and then I just started watching reruns from the beginning.
