I don't recall, was there video of this panel recorded as well, or only audio? No spoiler, but I know there was a long-awaited moment in this panel I wanted to see since I missed it live.
Vangelus, you should totally watch Sleepy Hollow. The Headless Horseman is literally the one of the Four Horsemen, who occasionally dual-wields shotguns, Clancy Brown, John Noble, crazy revisionist history like Washington was a zombie and Frankin created a frankenstein monster. The Hellfire Club, The Masons, The Hessians, Possessions, and endearing fish out of water/time moments. So great.
My only real complaint about this episode, is that I wished you discussed the 3rd party reveals or Aaron Archer joining Play With Us 2. Sure, you guys didn't attend the panel, but you talked about the Venus panel & missed that one too. But otherwise great podcast as usual, even if it got a bit rushed because you couldn't hold onto the room.
Upcoming ep 328 has a big walk thru the Third Party Panel slides! I was still not sure if we'd hook up with Archer to record a sit-down chat when we did this recording, so I think I probably put off the topic in my head at the time.
We also talked about Archer a bit in 329 As for the pre-show even that Vangelus is editing it was a three camera shoot, very impressive for something so painfully dumb.
I didn't realise how much I missed GogDog until hearing the TFcon live recording. Seth and Gog have a great rapport. I was kind of hoping for some GogDog trash-talking on the new RID toys though (because, like Vangelus, I thought they were great Cyberverses until I realised they were Deluxes - seriously, Optimus' feet don't even fold away), but oh well. Anyway, I love the Play With This Too interview. Thanks very much for that, guys. I was already excited about it, but now my wallet is crying out for mercy, and I think I need a few spare pairs of pants. Too bad I'll probably never get to go to any Transformers conventions. We only have a few conventions here in New Zealand, and most of them are small and unexciting. Okay, ALL of them are unexciting. Only one of them is "big" (70k people through this year over four days).
That weekend ended far far too fast, and there was far far too many airplanes that flew over my hotel It was awesome to finally to get to meet so many people, I met Aaron before, Vangelus this time, and I think I missed saying hello to Seth in the gaming room. And a few of the folks who've been around here a long while in the bar on Friday night. I do sort of regret not getting a masterpiece Shafter but had some decent luck in the dealer room on a tight budget. I finally was able to score a cheep YOTD Optimus and Million Publishing Artfire, two I have wanted for an eternity! That hotel lunch buffet was killlller if it all goes down again next year no more off site hotel, and I think that's going to be the rule for any Con, that was a bad bad move. A mistake I won't repeat. Also as it so turns out, hopping in a car and randomly trying to navigate Chicago the first time there with no plans or maps, bad bad idea. It's amazing the things you end up learning the hard way sometimes.
