In the arena you'll also be able to evolve to stage 3, but this will be difficult due the size of the dome.

is this game fun? like... to just play with random people? I really like the idea of it and stuff but don't really care for talking online etc. also I've heard some bad things about it concerning microtransactions and stuff?
Most of the microtransactions are just fluff. Just a lot of skins that are only cosmetics enhancements. You'll have to pay for new characters if you want to use them though (the hunters and monsters). It's a decent game but it gets boring rather quickly (seems to be the case with FPS games for me). I'd highly suggest playing with friends since you'll probably have a more cohesive team then.
It's fun with friends. Nothing to devote your life to, but it's fun and has a lot of different game modes. Definitely more fun coordinating with someone you know then randoms who may or may not be competant. The microtransactions are just manchildren over-reaction. As said, they're just skins, and the new characters are actual DLC. The game also occasionally gives out skins for free during events anyhow.
Well, with the second season pass now under way, or as they're calling it Hunting Season, I've decided it was time to return to Evolve. Though the game feels a little different due to all the patches and balancing fixes that've come in the past several months. I'm little bummed, cause it seems they're only releasing the new content one piece at a time. So far Lennox packs a wallop. They'll definitely have to give her a downgrade. I look forward to the rest of the hunters and the monster, though. Hopefully they don't take too long to release.

Evolve Free Weekend and Meteor Goliath release Aside from Evolve being free to play this weekend along every available bit of DLC content. The most interesting part this, will be the new Meteor Goliath. It's a new variant or has they're calling it an 'adaptation' of the Goliath. The description, Overview: On the ruined planet of Shear, in the desperate struggle between Man and Monster…. Adaptation emerges as the weapon of choice. Meteor Goliath , Evolve’s first adaptation, is a variant of the iconic Goliath Monster, adding a new look, and stunning blue-fire effects, as well as new audio, and gameplay. Meteor Goliath uses his burning “area off effect”, and increased range to spread residual fire damage across the entire Hunter team, while showcasing a fiery twist on Goliath’s abilities. Abilities: All Abilities have been re-balanced around residual fire damage, but the differences don’t stop there: Rock Throw : Rock Throw is still Meteor Goliath’s heaviest damage dealer but now his boulders are covered in blue fire and travel faster! Leap Smash: Leap Smash is still the foundation of all Meteor Goliath builds, this Leap Smash hits targets much farther away. Watch how surprised the Hunters are when they think they’re out of range and then suddenly get hit by a blue comet! Fair warning: The cooldown time has been increased to compensate for the ability to travel farther. Fire Breath: Fire Breath is blue, and comes with surprising range. Use it to snipe Hunters from farther away, but don’t be greedy. Share the fire with everyone! Charge: Charge has the same speed as before, but lasts much longer now. Did we need to mention it looks like a Meteor? The cooldown time is increased. Sneak: Your flames automatically extinguish when you enter stealth mode.
