I just found out about this game through GameInformer. If you are a fan of classic Metroid games, check this out as it looks incredible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6U04mprotZU
I'd rather Metroid be the new Metroid. But nonetheless this looks awesome! Always nice to see respect for Metroidvania style games. Now if only mainstream games would pay that same respect...
Correction: Sakamoto has abandoned the franchise. That doesn't necessarily mean Nintendo in it's entirety has.
Nintendo keeps mentioning that they have possible plans for Metroid. But that's all they ever really say when questioned about it. But still, Axiom Verge looks to be a suitable and worthy Metroidvania, so I welcome it with open arms!
I got excited about this game, then I saw "released sometime in 2015" and lost it. I guess next year at some point I'll have something to remember being excited about. Video games are like 3rd party toys - you hear about them and get all happy, forget them, and maybe you'll see them someday.
sooo... this game looks amazing. but I have a few questions. one, considering 16-bit graphics are ancient, shouldn't this be a piece of cake to make? and, given what we've seen, should I get the PSvita, solely so I can have this game? do you guys feel it's worth it?
I feel exactly the same about Cyberpunk 2077; awesome trailer, excellent visual asthetic, cool concepts in a setting I dig, but right now is about as likely to come out as Half Life 2 - Episode 3/ Half Life 3.
Digging it so far, playing it exclusively on my vita streamed from my PS4. Not the ideal way to do it but it works well enough. Totally original Metroid look and feel so far.
Yeah, been playing it. REALLY great soundtrack and solid controls. I also like that all the weapons you find have a good purpose.
