I didn't want to see the game get lost in the VGX 2013 thread, plus I feel it deserves its own thread in any event. No Man's Sky - YouTube At the recent VGX awards, one of the real standout announcements (in my view, at least) was for Hello Games' upcoming No Man's Sky; a quite ambitious ground, sea, and space exploration game with a massive procedurally-generated universe to play around in. I find it interesting to see a game with such a strong Elite vibe off of it show up like this, not least since Elite: Dangerous is also in the works. How might the two games compare and contrast in their respective visions of what lies beyond?
I'm really curious how multiplayer is supposed to work. It would be pretty amazing if they actually plan on having one consistent universe for everyone to explore.
I started watching VGX during this trailer at around 1:20 of that video. At 1:34 of the video, I thought this game was going to be a Gradius game because it showed the player shooting and going through that chunk of rock.
I hope they can get this on as many platforms as possible nit just for gamers sake but the 4 dudes who came together to craft this awesome looking game!
This is one of those games that has huge, insane potential, but i'm worried it might not end up nearly as good as it could. Hope for the best, expect the worse (although it's already past the "worst" stage). Still, made by 4 dudes is pretty damn impressive. Isn't that exactly what the second line of the first post says?
That looked really cool; I have no idea what it's about per say but all I saw was dinosaurs and space ships so I'm in.
The trailer makes me feel like it's a weird combo of Minecraft(the resource/element part in the cave), Spore and Wing Commander. If they pull this game off, I think that's the one that convinces me to go next gen.
It looks really good, but I'm really worried about what's going to change between now and when (if?) it finally comes out.
This game just looks impressive. The potential is infinite. I wonder how long it can stay interesting though. I can't believe this was created by four guys, and they had to put this together from scratch after a flood destroyed all their progress some time last year.
