My set up is cable internet where it goes from the wall to a modem and then to the PS3 with an Ethernet cable. Everything was fine with my PS3 until Tuesday. That was when my cable company disconnected my cable and internet by mistake because the technician shut off the wrong apartment. After 3 days I had a Technician come out and reconnect my cable and internet. The internet works just fine on my computer. But when I connect my PS3 to the internet, it will seem connected for about a minute, and brings up the friends list sometimes. But if I try to go to the PSN store, or go online with a game, it logs me out immediately with the error code 8002AD23. I contacted both my cable company and Sony and neither could give a solution that worked. I've tried every solution I found online and it didn't work. This is too much of a coincidence that the problem started after the internet service was reconnected after being off 3 days. Anyone experienced this PSN problem before where you have perfect internet on your computer but it won't stay connected to PSN?

Ah, that explains last night when I kept seeing you signing in and out again and again. I was like, "WTF is he doing?" after a bit :p

As for you issue, I dunno man. Have you looked through all the Network stuff in the PS3's XMB for a possible solution?

Almost sounds like you are being throttled. Could be the way the internet was set up by the tech when he turned it on? Its like as long as you are using a small bandwith, you are find. Bandwith usage goes up, you get the boot.

Yeah I checked all the settings and tried to put it all to default too. I have a cable tech coming out again today to look at it. :/

This was actually happening to me with Time Warner a few months ago. Every time my son would play online for a while, we noticed a pattern that our internet would go out immediately after he was done playing. It felt like "ok, you had your fun for a while, now we're putting you in timeout!" After about a week, we finally called and complained. The rep tried blaming it on my router, which didn't make any sense since it was the modem that wasn't receiving a signal. I work in IT so I started getting technical with the rep on the phone and started blasting him about throttling. Hasn't happened again since.

Well after another call with Sony that went nowhere, and another visit from a cable tech who swore my cable signal was perfect, I tried my last resort: A system restore and a full reformating of my harddrive, which erased everything I had saved. But it seems like this worked and I'm back to surfing PSN like before. Strange but oh well. Time to re-download all my old crap...
