Square Enix has announced the launch dates for both Final Fantasy XI for the Xbox 360 and the newest expansion, Treasures of Aht Urghant for all platforms. On April 18 in North America, and April 20 in Europe and Japan, both of these titles will launch.
Treasures of Aht Urghan will launch at $29.99 USD for both the PlayStation 2 and Windows PCs, and does not require Rise of the Zilart or Chains of Promathia to play.
The Xbox 360 version will contain all the expansions, Aht Urghan included, and will launch at $49.99 USD. It's as of yet unknown if the Xbox 360 version of PlayOnline will contain the card game Tetra Master.
| I'm excited. Can't wait to buy the 360 version

And to the Xbox360 players, if you want a headstart, go to www.ebay.com and start looking for some cheap gil, cause the FF11 economy is ****ed beyond belief ! Oh, and an interesting note. People love to charge the newbies even more gil. When the first NA players on the PC version joined the game, the prices of all the items would steadily increase as the NA players raised in level. It happened once again when the PS2 players came, never recovering from before.
Nowadays, gold farmers have completely destroyed the games economy. You basically NEED to buy gil off the internet if you want anything. And if you don't believe me, well, you'll be in for a surprise soon enough. |

I wouldn't say the econmy is totally effed up in the game, but a lot of the servers. I manged to find a server that's quite balanced.
Thanks to Maximo Prime for the avatar!

When I went back a couple months ago, it had completely changed. People were paying 10k gil for an item you could buy in a shop for 900 gil. Low level items not available in stores were 20k+ gil. It was sick. I guess it might depend on the server, but you can be sure prices will be jacked up for Xbox360 launch. They're gonna try to bleed the new players dry. |
