Technically the argument could be made that every company milks certain franchises.

But then again, Halo has been getting milked since day one.

I wish I could, but I just can't get excited about Halo anymore. I interest in the series left with Bungie.

Do they really need to drag out the Reclaimer trilogy? Why not make a couple of spin-off titles, or try Peter Jacksons' episodic games, if they need to fill a quota of Halo games per system?

Oh I know what a Spartan 4 is now they do seem like ODST with bells on.

Following up on an earlier comment - if they want to make a Halo game 1 per year I'd like a Arbiter game please. set after Halo 3 they can have him fight rogue New-Covenant loyalists and attack the Brute's homeworld, maybe do some clean up or Human or Jackel Pirates - and perhaps in the process trip over some forerunner tech.

I found playing as him a complete pleasure in Halo 2 and playing a chief a chore - they could even through in some flash backs to his pre-Arbiter days and his tower assault in Halo 3 and perhaps show us what he did during Halo 3 when Chief was elsewhere.

Basically they need to make a game where the fun sandbox stuff is in play and perhap maybe have less reliance on the multiplayer as it stands at the moment - say allow for drop in co-op more than one on one death matches - essentially you put all the work into the single player and then allow more than one person to play it at once if they want to.

That could allow a different focus and then they can show a distinction between Chief and the Arbiter not just in the gameplay but in what you do as well and whom you fight.

I like the option to use lots of weapons and vehicles and existing Halo games keep taking that away and frankly I bugs me.

I like Silent Cartographer sandbox like fun.... take that bit in one game when the Sgt has stolen a Scarab you could play as the scarab. - but the good thing about that was I found you can steal a Banshie and run air cover for it or steal a Spectre and run ground cover.

That bit in Halo 3 that forces you to use a funny Looking VTOL and refuses to allow you to fly a Banshie was not nice.

Wait...how has Halo been milked since day one? I'd say it started milking after Halo 3. Cause I wouldn't call 3 games over the space of 6 years milking.

Well, I guess this confirms that they will spam us with a game every year on Xbox One and it won't change much and ladadada...prove me wrong 343, I really want you to.

No they don't Chief can't cloak (hardly at all if at all) and has an automatic overshield slapped on him from time to time instead The Arbiter can go invisible almost any time you like.. and uses swords better Chief also is missing his flash light in one of the game (might be Halo 2 I don't remember right now). so Chief has no power ups so is weaker in some ways - but the Arbiter is allowed to go invisible most of the time so has a huge advantage over Chief in many ways. I can't recall if the Arbiter was given acces to human weapons mind as it's been a year or more since I played HALO 2's campaign now as I was avoiding it so if they make a remake i'd enjoy it more and I also got the PC version I'd like to play too.

Killing the heretics is much easier with Arbiter : http://xboxmedia.gamespy.com/xbox/image/article/564/564105/halo-2-20041105103535768_640w.jpg

So Arbitur is like the playing the Predator (done properly). I think they play the same in Halo 3 co op though.

I don't profess to be a Halo Expert but that is how a falteringly remember it anyway experientially speaking when recalling playing Halo 2 last.

4 numbered Halo games in the span of 10 years is milking? Whatever. Reach gave us the chance to tell the origins of the Spartan project and Cortana while ODST was a cool way to to tell the story of New Mombasa and the ODSTs themselves. And hate on Halo Wars all you like but it was a great strategy game set in the Halo Universe.

Yup they done gone the Killzone route........

    Screw you 343.

In terms of game mechanics they are the same. Things like the flashlight for the Chief or the cloaking for the Arbiter are just minor differences. They jump the same height, move at the same speed, have shielding and can wield the same weapons. It's just a case of strategies for each character is different. The books would make differences greater, but in terms of the games they played the same.

I want to say the light was nixed in 3 or at least was not as bright as it was in 2. The Arbiter could wield human weapons, but those were restricted to the levels with the flood.

Wait. It's not a new trilogy? It's a ongoing series with no end?

You really have a lot of you're 'facts' wrong. The only gameplay difference between the Chief and the Arbiter in Halo 2 was that the Arbiter could cloak. They had the same jumo height, the same speed, the same melee damage, the same shields and the same handling of weapons. The Arbiter handled an energy sword exactly the same as the Chief. The Heretics were only in the Arbiters missions, I believe, and if they weren't they had the exact same health and AI of the normal covenant. The Arbiter could use human weapons and so on, they were the same gameplay wise. One was not better than the other.
Yeah...basically they are just going to milk it now :/ I really hope they won't...but it doesn't look to bright.

Meh. Fuck it. I was gonna move to PS4 anyway.

I'll just pretend Halo doesn't exist anymore. Halo 4's ending was great enough closure for me personally. Just pretend the Didact died, and forget Spartan Ops was ever written.

    Destiny plox.

Is that what a true Halo fan would say?

Everyone hating on Xbox and threatening to boycott don't realize what they're giving up. They're giving up Halo for starters.

Considering where the franchise is going, it's no major loss.

with the direction microsoft and 343 are going with the franchise ill have no trouble giving up on Halo even though its what convinced me to move from PS2 to 360, ill always have the previous entries to fall back on as well as Destiny on PS4, and I can always youtube lets plays of the new saga to see how far itll have fallen from grace.
