So, I bought my system refurbished, not new. And now the Controller charger isn't working. I guess my first step is to test a different controller, but damned if I know where to find one. Guess I'll take a little look see.

I pray to God it's just the fucking charger cord, I noticed the small part that plugs into the remote seems to be loose and bends. Maybe I should get a different charger cord, that should be easy to find. Right?

I've barely touched the system since buying it and I have a vacation now for the holidays and was hoping to play more... this is probably my own damn fault for playing games while it's plugged in, I probably jerked something the wrong way while playing and bam damaged the fucking cord. Flimsy shit can't even let you play while charging. Not like my PS3, I can charge and play no matter what without damaging the cord. *SIGH* Guess I'll have to brave the stores after boxing day and see if I can find anything.

The cord is really common. Just a USB Micro B cable. I hope it is the cord and not the controller. You could have broken the connection inside the controller.

The PSN store is currently selling Star Wars Battlefront 2 for 5 bucks and it says it needs 48gb of space. But when I tried to download it the system said I didn't have enough space. Anyone know how much space it really takes up?

You need at least double the HDD space when installing since it'll download a temporary file first before installing the game locally. After that, the temporary file is deleted. So for example, even if it's only a 48GB game and you have 70GB available space, you need 96GB free to download and install it.

This is done so in case something interrupts the download, it wasn't installing at the same time, thus preventing corruption of your HDD.

Not to be a jerk but you are replying to a 4 month old post. I’m sure he solved it by now.

Yeah its cause people were buying PS Now. Which would covert it to Premium. Even at msrp, that was a steal.

I'd say get a PS5 proper, experience the game the way it was meant to be experienced.

Ok, I just had something weird happen.

I bought Monster Hunter World on sale on PSN a couple nights ago. Regular price was $19.99, but it was marked down to $14.99.

But when I downloaded it, it says it’s MHW: Icebourne. That’s what the picture is of, and that’s what the title shows. I had seen Icebourne on PSN as a separate purchase, on sale for around $22. I checked and I definitely bought vanilla MHW for $14.99. Why would mine say Icebourne if that’s not what I bought? When I started the game, the loading screen said Icebourne but the title screen said MHW. Weird.

Your base game will still get all the updates and patches for compatibility, despite opting not to get additional content. There are some exceptions but most games I have that have gotten expansions and such have also done this. Iceborne is just the most current version of MH:W, so the game icon on the Home Screen reflects this.

Question: if, say, I create a secondary user on my PS4 it asks me if I want to log into an existing PSN account - which is good. But if I already have a secondary account created and I go to "Account Management" and select "Sign into Playstation Network" hoping for the same choice then it only gives me the option to create a new PSN account. Thanks in advance for any advice.

TL; DR? I want this option for an existing second account...

but what I'm getting is this option...

So the update on this is that after struggling with it for a while I just drove to Walmart and bought the game. It was only like $3 bucks more. Which in the end was probably worth it because it probably meant less space taken up on my PS4's HDD.

Nope takes up the same space, discs aren’t the same as it was in the PS3. All it is is a key to start the game. Everything is on the hard drive. At this point today there is no benefit to have a physical game besides showing it off on a shelf.

    Except for Nintendo.

Game sizes are indeed quite different from cartridge and download.

Nothing wrong with getting them. Just helping the dude out. It’s just clarifying that what he thought doesn’t happen. I’m not telling to stop buying physical. Just saying don’t save space.

I still buy physical games, you’re just putting words in my mouth.
