I just hope Falco comes back better than ever. I'm not too happy with Brawl's slowed Blaster speed (balance, sure, but I liked it when Falco's Blaster was unfairly rapid...), but at long as he keeps his short-hop and down-air spike, he should be fine. Basically, just don't change him at all.


Also, add in Protoman (from Megaman). The red guy with the single 'horn' and visor and...

...he better be named Blues. And be playable.

EDIT: A bit far fetched, but it would be awesome to see Lightning from FF-13. Cloud could work too. Yeah, not gonna happen, I know. But still...I can dream....what about a Shiva Sisters Assist Trophy?

Since I highly doubt that Mewtwo would return...I think that Zoroark should take his place, since Lucario did in Brawl. I would like to see Roy make a return. I think Girahim could work as well.

As for guest characters? Optics said Sora from Kingdom Hearts, so I'm going to go Square Enix as well and say Neku from The World Ends with You for my wish list. I wold like Sonic to return, but I have a feeling that's unlikely.

 

What I'd like:
- Mewtwo again. Or at least some equally creepy psychic villain type character to take his place. I loooooved how Mewtwo never physically walked or held anything, just... floated.

- No-one should be left out this time. I have a terrible feeling Lucario's going to be replaced by some Gen 6 Pokemon, though...

- Playable Ridley.

- Unique movesets for Ganondorf, Falco, and Wolf. Seriously, 3 Star Fox characters and they all have the same moves?!

- More alternate skins, like Wario has. Mario->Dr. Mario->8-Bit Mario, Samus->Dark Samus->Fusion Suit Samus, etc.

- Fawful, somehow. Either a boss, an Assist Trophy (where he just keeps yammering, like Mr Resetti), or even... a playable character! (like that'd happen)

Unless they alter Ganondorf's moveset to include a sword, he's fine as is.

Mario going from normal to Doctor is a texture swap. 8-Bit is making an entire new character model.

Also, I kinda want a 3rd Samus in addition to a playable Ridley. Samus has so many weapons, I want to see a playable iteration use them, like the Ice Beam, Flamethrower, or the Speed Booster.

By the time ssb4 comes out pokemon gen 6 will probably be out in stores for a while so there a high chance of a new unrevealed pokemon to be in it.

 

I doubt this will be true, but we can wait and see. And we can add it to rumors to discuss.

A rumor popped up on Gamefaqs by a user named Halibuton, claiming that he worked for Namco and had some information told to him by his coworkers. He reported that there would be Nintendo Direct on Brawl's Japanese anniversary (January 31) and said it would be centered around SSB4, though likely more of a series retrospective with minor new info than a full-blown reveal trailer. He also said that he knew a bit about the early roster and claimed to know a few newcomers: Little Mac and Takamaru (chosen as recent-popularity classics and an "East vs. West" concept supposedly due to previous games being too Japan-only-series-centric) as well as King K. Rool and Ridley (chosen due to popular demand and having movesets based on more recent games). Other claimed, less-finalized newcomers are Shulk from Xenoblade, Dillon from Dillon's Rolling Western, Ghirahim from the Legend of Zelda series, a debu from a heavily-rumoured Yoshi game for the Wii U (which has already happened recently), and a Platinum Games character possibly from The Wonderful 101. Aside from characters, multiple stages were listed: Starship Mario (Super Mario Galaxy 2), Giant Chasm (Pokémon Black 2/White 2), Pushmo Park (Pushmo), and Cookie Country (Kirby's Return to Dream Land).

I doubt K. Rool though due to Rare, Microsoft, etc. Which sort of debunks the rumor.

 

we think alike. that's what i miss with lucario, is the way mewtwo hovered just above the ground and the way it made him look when moving. so much more fluid and smooth. really neat and unique character. doesn't help half of lucario's special moves are based off getting hit first, which doesn't work for me.

 

What if we made Tabuu a playable character? 

 

Nintendo owns the Donkey Kong franchise now, which should also include K. Rool, shouldn't it?
I didn't play the new Donkey Kong Country game on the Wii, but I assume he was present there.

Anyway, I'd love for Little Mac, but a lot of the rumors you posted are a bit out there, most notably that, for an earlier announcement stating that Smash 4 wouldn't place a precedent on character additions, rather character balancing, presumably due to the Wii U's superior online compared to the Wii and not having another Meta Knight problem again.

 

I am pretty certain that Capcom will drop the ball AGAIN on talking with Nintendo to get Megaman in there.

I'd personally like to see DLC support (and not just "on disc" DLC but an open capacity to add new content and characters). Also a character creator allowing fur costmizable movesets, and possibly voice clips as well. If it doesn't have your favorite character, just make them.

I doubt Snake will return, but I'd like to see Sonic again, and possibly Knuckles and Tails as well.

And now for a real stretch, I want to see Travis Touchdown added.

 

Honestly, I think the closest thing you'll get to a character creator would be like "Play as your Mii!" or something like that.

I think Kojima and Konami are lax enough to let Snake appear again, but I doubt we'll be seeing anyone else from the Sonic crew playable. Assist Trophies, perhaps...

DLC would be awesome. I'd spring for it.

I'm still rooting for Dark Samus as a character.

I'd love Mega Man X or Zero in it too. Can you imagine kicking up walls in SSB4? It would be epic.

 

I have a feeling that if we get any Mega Man characters, we won't get Zero since he was in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

But for Mega Man characters, I think it'd be classic Mega Man. Perhaps the texture swap idea could give an X skin, though.

 

What was wrong with the twin snakes?

Why would MGS4 Snake and Revengance Raiden be in the game when those games aren't even on Nintendo ports? Darth Vader wouldn't happen, I just can't see that one.
Also everyone seems to have forgotten about MGS Snake Eater 3D, so that gives Snake 3 games on Nintendo consoles.
But yeah I'd love to see Dark Samus as well, also I'd like to see Sylux as a playable character and have Dylano 7 as his final smash   Also having the other hunters as assist trophies would be cool.
