Hey everybody. I recently purchased the HP Envy m6 laptop. Its been working fine all week until today when I turned it on it was downloading a new Windows update. Once the update finished a pop up appeared saying there was a problem, then it turned off. When I turned it back on it gave me a screen saying "Selected Boot Image Did Not Authenticate" and wouldn't let me do anything. I did some research and found a couple ways to fix it, but neither appear to be working.

First thing I tried doing was going into the BIOS and disabling SecureBoot and enabling LegacyBoot, but now when I try going into Windows 8 it says my PC needs to be repaired and the digital signature could not be verified.

I also tried holding down F11 while turning it on but that didn't help much either. It still won't let me access my account.

I'm currently waiting for it to finish with a system restore (which is taking a really long time), but I don't know if that will help or not. If anyone has any idea how to fix this problem please let me know. BTW I'm not that great with computers so please spell it out as simply as you can otherwise it'll look like another language to me.

EDIT: Okay after asking around I think I have it figured out. Apparently that update completely fucked the OS up, so I'll have to get a recovery DVD from HP because I bought the laptop from Best Buy and it didn't include one.

Of course not, it would cost extra. In Windows 8 you can create a recovery DVD natively from the OS.
