It isn't a JLA game. It's a Batman game with the JLA in it.

What I'm worried about is Hamill said he's done being Joker. And if he isn't doing Joker, I don't know if I'd even want to play this.

I have to wonder. Will Mark Hamill come back to voice the Joker or will they get someone else? If they get someone younger for the Joker, then will they replace Kevin Conroy too?

    This.
The article makes it clear that it's still just a Batman game, except this time Superman or Wonder Woman might comlink in.

    Huh.......

Guess I'll just have to wait to see where this is going. Thought I sure wouldn't mind having another game.

Exactly what my first thought was as well. He said Arkham City was his retirement swan song, so that could bode badly for the new game. A few other people commenting on this news elsewhere said this just sounds like a cheap excuse to include the Joker yet again, and I do kind of agree with that. I would have vastly preferred a third & final sequel with another play on the Arkham title. Arkham World... Arkham Nation... whatever.

All that plus I'm just dead against any inclusion of Justice League bullshit. That nonsense might work for Marvel, but I've never bought it with DC characters. And I'm sick of sequels being shoehorned in as prequels. Here's a novel idea: how about leave the first installment of a series as the prequel? Wait for an all new series to do an arcing backstory.

After he announced his "retirement" from The Joker, Hamil reprised the role for DCU Online. So he's clealry not opposed to it.

Aww Yeah. I've been expecting at some point they'd involve the Justice League and if Mark won't voice the Joker their's plenty of other villains and role reprisals to be had.

Like Tim Daly as Superman, Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman and maybe Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor.

So, so sick of Rocksteady relying on Joker constantly.

Was really looking forward to what comes after Arkham City because of this. Sad to see they are moving backwards in time and using the Joker once again.

Well if they're involving the Justice League, odds are good that the villain roster can be expanded to include Bizzaro, Darkseid, Circe, Captain Cold, Sinestro, Vandal Savage etc.

And Rocksteady won't. They said this game will be the first time Joker and Batman meet. Which means Joker is the guy. Which means they sure as hell better get Hamill back.

Yes! Thank you. The man can retire all he wants, but he can't quit the Joker.

Its probably fair to say that this is more WB's doing than rocksteady.

I'm not sure how I feel about it, as I too would a preferred something after AC. But this could be interesting. I'd love to see something sort of 'period pieced' feeling with thisbut it probably wouldn't be too terribly evident. Nothing as drastic as say the scrapped Gotham by gaslight.

Feels a bit hamfisted on WBs part but I'm pretty confident in rocksteady's abilities

As much as I like the JLA, I also like answers =p

I think the joker stuff would work best as flashbacks personally. Have a series of Bats first meets with a few villains as boss fights and hiw he gets into the JLA/meets them and then have it culminate in the present/ after arkham city. They could even show that whoever they choose for the big bad has had their hand in proceedings for a while.
