I tried downloading it to my Vita - I got to the part where it said to start Content Manager or whatever - but when I did nothing happened.

So I just went to the PS store on the Vita and downloaded it, but apparently I don't have enough memory on my system.

Destined to not play it on the Vita, I guess. :lol

Wow this is already out?! I might have to use up a giftcard to pick it up. Quick question though, how does cross-buy work? Do I have to buy it for PS3 then download it on Vita? or does a version of the game come with both the card and the disc? Or do I buy it on Vita and download it on PS3?

Buy it on ps3. Putting the disc in will allow you to unlock a download for the vita.

Playing it at work now with last night's PS3 save :D . I hope they keep this type of thing going, but with the graphical gap between the PS4 and the Vita widening, I doubt it will be possible.

Y'know whats sad? This game is an absolute gem, a bona fide playable Saturday morning cartoon, and its been utterly ignored. It's just... wow. Sony really dropped the ball on this one, at least concerning advertising.

Finished playing through it the other day. I've gotta say, not as great as Sly 2, but its up there. Really had a blast. Loved every ancestor, though the jobs were a bit linear for my tastes. It also feels like Carmelita got sidelined in terms of jobs (her highlight was a belly-dance, not that I mind too much, but still...).

Am I missing something here though? I could have sworn I heard Clockwerk was supposed to play a role in the story. Ah well, it was still awesome, and hopefully they sell enough copies so they can put Sly 5 into motion.

The advertising for this game was indeed absolute shit.

It's definitely not as good as Sly 2, I agree. And I liked all the ancestors except Bob. That entire level honestly felt like a waste to me. The boss was hilarious, though.

One of the creators, when asked about Clockwerk, said that he "wouldn't be surprised if he played a role in the story"... but he doesn't, so that tease kinda falls flat. But honestly, there's so many little references to Clockwerk in this game (hell, he straight-up appears in an easter egg, plus you even hear the "Clockwerk theme" a few times), he HAS to be in one of the sequels.

I've heard some theories that maybe
Penelope is the one who built him, after breaking out of prison and traveling even further back in time. Plus, the secret ending shows Sly in Egypt, presumably in Slytunkhamen's era. He was the first member of the Cooper Clan and AFAIK the first known victim of Clockwerk. I think the next game may delve into Clockwerk's origins.

However, as one of the easter eggs I mentioned, Clockwerk does show up in Bob's level (and in his mechanical form). This means he is WAAAY older than previously thought, or he's able to time travel.

Whatever the case, we need more Clockwerk. Incredibly badass villain, but was only in the game for like 10 minutes max (he himself, not counting his body and all that).

I thought Bob's whole level was funny (him talking just made me chuckle every single time). And where is this Clockwerk Easter egg that I somehow missed?

And yeah, I caught a couple of the references (mainly when his, or rather Clock-La's silhouette shows up in the cutscene about Bentley's demons). But I suppose with Le Paradox (who we hopefully see more next go round) running about they could only squeeze so much story into one game.

Clockwerk's origin story would definitely make an interesting game. He's been such a presence throughout the franchise, and yet we know so little. Its certainly time the mechanical bird made a comeback. I mean, he definitely had bigger aspirations beyond ending the Cooper lineage. He did build a fucking death ray.

I like your Penelope theory a lot. That fits in so well with the series' mythology its not even funny. Eventually though, I'd like to see the majority of the game take place in the present. Not that the past wasn't cool, but that schtick will only work for so long.

Plus Clockwerk is a calculating dude - he had to have had a shit ton of backup plans.

The easter egg is that, in each level, during a specific mission, Clockwerk can be seen perched somewhere observing the area. It's one of the coolest video game easter eggs I've ever seen, but that may be because I'm a huge Clockwerk fan. It's honestly a little bit creepy, too.

Here's one such example of the easter egg:

Alright, finally finished up the game. A few thoughts:

The final boss was okay, I guess. At first I was all like UGH A GARBAGE QUICKTIME EVENT, but I'll be a little more lenient because, because it was a cool QTE. I wish the villain had more to do with constructing Clockwerk though, and overall I'm sorta disappointed Clockwerk didn't have anything to do with the plot. And speaking of Clockwerk... does anyone else find it kinda strange that Sly didn't mention to the ancestors "hey by the way you're gonna be hunted down by a serial killer robot owl so watch out alight?"

Oh, and the load times are friggin horrendous, BTW.

Overall, I'd give it an 8/10. I think this game has broken the "Playstation platformer curse", because I'd put it up there right with the other Slys. Probably on par with Sly 1 and 3, but not quite as good as Sly 2. I think it's pretty obvious that there's gonna be future games, unless this one bombs hardcore sales-wise. Looking forward to 'em!

I finished up the main game tonight. Really loved it just as much as the other Sly games. I'd agree with the nasty load times being an issue... Otherwise it was great. I still need to go back and track down the treasures and Sly masks.

The best part of the game was getting both my kids hooked on Sly, that they are starting a play through starting with Sly 1.

FREAKING LOVE THE SERIES SINCE THE FIRST ONE CAME OUT AND THIS ONE MADE ME PROUD TO CALL IT A SLY GAME!!!

Ancestors were cool, I expect the others in the next installment, However I was not a fan of their reskin canes, lacking some variety there, I guess only with Rioichi, I i=understand Salim's cane because he's old now so how can he carry a massive Scimitar.

Penelope shocke me really, not saying I didn't like it, but they could go a bit deeper with her actions (PS I THINK SHE WAS WORKING FOR LE PARADOX BEFORE SHE FIRST ENCOUNTERED THEM, THIS WAS ALLLLL PLANNED!!!! (with a few set backs of course like falling in love with Bentley and the encounter with the Stone Dragon and Lefwee).

I like all the bosses, yes even the quick time finale, I thought it was quite intense all though some variety would of been nice.

I also wanted for some reason Raleigh as the black knight and Penelope in renaissance Italy for some reason, would fit their styles more, plus I bet you an inclusion with an Italian ancestor that would pity Sly's fake accent. HAHHAHH

Overall 9 out of ten, I'm just too nostalgic right now.

Sorry to bump the thread, but I had no freaking idea this came out until I saw it at Gamestop (way to promote your title, Sony). Bought it, and hot damn did it rekindle my love of this franchise. I've been playing for five days straight and just got to the Arabian level.

    One thing that bugged me:
the Penelope face heel turn seems to just come out of nowhere for me. Nothing in Sly 3 or even the onset of this one indicated she felt this way or would turn bad.

My friend has an interesting theory about this: considering they've done the world tour twice and time travel already, he thinks this could be a plot point to set up a multi-dimensional arc, with the Penelope they fought actually from an alternate dimension and the real Penelope held somewhere in that dimension.

The Penelope thing did feel kinda weird (forced at worst) but I didn't really mind it too much to be honest.

Hopefully it gets a nice follow-up if there's a sequel. And I think there'll be one; apparently Thieves in Time sold relatively well (for a game with virtually zero advertisement, anyway).

All I wanted was for her to be either brainwashed or when she was the Black Baron, she was already working for Cyrille and this was part of a plan, but she didn't expect to fall in love. This wuld of been good.

Or if they did do the sudden turn in perspective, they could of had Penelope work for Cyrille, but only for the chance to re-write time so that Bentley could get his legs back and this could've sparked a "I DON'T NEED MY LEGS!" "I DID THIS FOR YOU!!" argument. Than Penelope gets the idea that no matter what she does, the gang and Bentley don't need her/be better off without her and decides to loyally follow out Cyrilles plans.

And if they couldn't do that, could they have at least given her and Bentley about 10 more minutes and closure, so it wouldn't have feeled forced and rushed.

I think my biggest problem with it is how quickly Bentley get's over her.

I expect in the next one her flirting with him and Bentley tryng his hardest to ignore/not fall for it/bring back feelings for her. But one point he does and Penelope tricks him into jeparize the mission at hand. You know a Spider-man/Black Cat scenario.

Hmmmmmm, it didn't get over the mark they wanted however......but then again all Sly games have never been best sellers, the other game will probably still be created.
