Who's up for a game of, "Troll (grief-er) or Stupid?" ? 1: I'm playing Pyro, and see two Heavies with the same name, so obv, at least one is a Spy. Go to check the nearest one, who's being healed by a Medic. He catches fire. The Medic player yells over the mic "Stop setting our guys on fire you idiot!" Troll, or Stupid? Bariprime, what would you want for one of those L'Entragers?
I don't think Troll or Stupid is a very good game to be playing nowadays thanks to all of the F2P players.

I tried. I downloaded steam and TF2. I checked to see I at least met the min. requirements. I did, and surpasses them. Not the Optimal setup TF2 suggest, but better than the minimum. So, I click play. Try to access server. 1st one takes 20 minutes. Second one five. Tried again and again. I knew it was my computer. All things were rainbow colored and was running from 2-5 FPS. So I uninstalled steam and gave up. Anyone with advice, please help. From where I'm standing, "Even the worst computer can play it" is a false statement.

I enjoy playing the game now and again, but I just hate seeing the Xbox version get slammed as a shitty alternative to the PC. Everything they say the Xbox version "lacks" are the very things keeping me from trying the PC version. I like it as it is a fine example of simplicity in its design, and (IMO) all the different weapons and such clutter it up.
Dude, the PC version is free now. Regardless of the "clutter" you can jump into a game, literally at any time, and be playing with people. The Xbox version can't promise that. And who knows, perhaps after you get a few random drops, you'll fall in love with some weapon and decide that the Xbox version is a little too 'vanilla'.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how vanilla is considered a bad thing. I don't want to have to worry about what toppings are available, I just want to eat some ice cream. What I'm trying to get at is there are a lot of shooters out there that offer a variety of weapons and other features, but TF2 is pretty simplistic compared to them, and that's what captured my interest first and foremost. Sometimes simplicity is good, and IMO the PC version doesn't appear to have it.
Hats make the PC version better than the 360 version. If you don't have a soda hat with a heart floating around it, you don't know anything about video games. TF2 is horrendously optimized. I'm surprised Valve decided to make it F2P in the state it's in.
So there was a small update tonight. I'll let y'all check out teamfortress.com for the story behind it, but the long and the short is we got new soldier weapons. A launcher type laser weapon called the Cow Mangler, and a pistol called the Righteous Bison. They're easy enough to craft, all you need is a reclaimed and a black box and a battalions backup. Just gave them a quickie test spin, gentlemen, these weapons rock.
Reason I don't play the PC version. Too much customization. It kinda ruined it for me. Now it's all about the hats and new weapons every week. Seriously, there's like a dozen swords for Demoman. It's just a glorified dress-up game. It just takes the fun out of it.
I don't see myself using those new weapons, but as a Scout I love that charge on the Launcher, can easyily drop in pop 'em, before they even fire the dang thing. Also, Trade-wise, does anyone have a Strange Scattergun (or #23 crates they don't want) backpack's a few posts back, still looking for the things I mentioned then. As for XBox vs PC, only real reason I can't play XBox after playing PC is Airblast, cosmetic nonsense aside (as I make trade comments in the same post, yeah, I see the irony) for me that is too big too not have. (not that most current Pyro's know how to use it, but that's another story.)
