I feel a little bad, but I love this new Nether exploit. The fortress moved a little, and is actually different, but it's got three chests of loot that spawn in every time I reset it.

That said, they spawn in with the same exact items in them. Weren't their contents supposed to be a random mix of things? It's not too bad, as I'll have more saddles, iron and diamond horse armor, gold ingots, and diamonds than I'll know what to do with, but I would have liked to have gotten gold horse armor too.

I've only really worked with horses in one of my creative worlds, so I'm not sure if this will be true for survival, but nametags have been working for me. That said, I'm not sure I'll ever have any nametags in my main survival world, so that doesn't help me much. Not unless zombies start dropping them, or we're able to get them from fishing or something.

Honestly, I've been waiting this long for horses, I can wait a couple more weeks for the patch.

I know nobody will care, but I found a map for an old world that's been long since deleted. So many memories.

 

Well now hang on, how did you get a map for a deleted world? Honestly, you've piqued my interest here. Can you transfer maps from one world to another?

Anyone else notice the mobs seem to be more numerous now? On several occations I have run into a skeleton swarm.

 

Monsters seem fine on my world.

Speaking of, man world generation is shitty now. Well, on the surface. underground is a magical adventure of treasure and action. Above ground is boring, though. No temples or villages on six out of seven worlds I started since the update.

 

I've been playing through the new tutorial world and there's all sorts of stuff on that. Two sand temples and one Jungle temple. Two castles and like 4 villages.

 

Castles?

 

Yeah, they're some of the structures built into the Tutorial world by 4J to help introduce players to some of the stuff you can do in Minecraft. Nothing that will spawn in any new worlds like temples, but still pretty cool.

What do they look like?

 

They look like castles.

 

Pretty much what Split Lip said. They're castles, with different rooms and what not. The first one is close to the spawn point so that you can get experience using the different interfaces. There's also a pirate ship, with a pirate's hide out and everything. There's also a witch's hut (but I didn't see the witch, probably because I was on creative mode). I stopped playing this morning when I tried to TNT my way to the open area in the nether and froze the game. Note: Do NOT ingite TNT that stacked several deep horizontally. It worked fine vertically though. Also, Withers are a thing now. I created three in creative mode. Fought the first two and then spawned the third near a village. It's interesting to see it interact with other mobs. Now I hope to spawn one in both the nether and the end.

 

What is it made of?

 

The Wither? Make a "T" out of soul sand and put three wither skulls on top. So, place one block of soul sand, place another on top of that and one more on each side of the top one. The top each one with a wither skull and it will spawn. If you're playing in survival you don't want to be any where near it when it spawns because it will destroy nearby blocks and damage nearby mobs since it explodes when it's done spawning. After that, it has several different attacks and when it gets close to death it will radiate the "Wither effect" which does damage to you. Also, it's undead so healing potions will damage it while damage potions will heal it.

 

No, the castle things.

Yeah, they're made out of stone, and have stone slabs for the ramparts and what have you. Some areas like libraries or the villager trading post are made out of wood like regular villages. They are there to show what can be done. They have rooms with various different pictures, some have presure plates that activate secret rooms. I found one that had a secret passageway behind a fireplace. At the end was a room that was 3 x3 x3 that was alternating blocks of gold and bluestone and there was a block of diamond in the middle. So yeah, just kinda shows you what can be done if you get creative enough.
