making beta 1.8 server now, done in a few min, annyone wana play?

 

I think I posted in the other MineCraft thread that was here a while ago.

I've been a Minecraft addict since spring 2010. I can stop anytime I want!  

Been playing more again since the official 1.8 leak a couple days ago. Really loving the terrain changes. Not sure how I feel about the hunger bar and no more instant healing though.

 

I have epic construction and tunneling projects under way on my one player game.

 

Is the official 1.8 update out yet? My Minecraft hasn't updated beyond 1.7.3  

 

Not yet. Jeb says another build of the pre-release will be released tomorrow. the official 1.8 probably won't hit until Thursday at the earliest.

It was a smart idea for them to release this update this way. Gives them thousands of "beta testers" for an update that totally changes the game.

 

1.8 is now live.

 

I posted a vid last night that shows how to change your map between Creative and Survival. Comes in real handy if you have an old map that you were creating stuff in. I set my Fortress Maximus 2 to creative so that I can continue tweaking him and not worry about that mods that I used.

I have my own server running, if anyone wants to play together.

Funny thing about my map: I spawned at the bottom of an ocean.

I'm going to need to find red stone soon... need to make a map.

Too bad skills still have not been implemented and NPCs don't really have any other use. I'm also disappointed that Enderman's behavior of picking up blocks was removed. I thought it made them more menacing knowing they might destroy what you build.

 

Actually, iirc Endermen could not pick up player-placed blocks. So creepers still had them beat on the destruction factor.

 

I just looked them up to be certain. They could move player-placed blocks. It was mainly a nuisence for redstone wiring and lava lights.

 

I know this isnt Minecraft but does anyone here have the Indie game Total Miner for the Xbox? it recently has MP added to it and its so much fun but I dont have many people to play with right now

I liked that kid. Always nice to see a fellow hardcore Minecrafter. It could also be that he bares a striking resemblence to my nephew too. By the way anyone watch some of the stuff from Minecon. Cobalt looks pretty damn cool. And it's nice to know Minecraft is now in it's 1.0.0 form.

 

I just started playing Minecraft...and it's so addictive! Seriously guys, how do you stop? It keeps calling to me!

 

I stopped because I couldn't decide how the bathroom should look if it's going to be on the same floor as the kitchen. Seriously, when you amass an inventory as large as mine, you stop worrying about zombies and start freaking out on wether or not this painting will match with the decor of the library you just built around the fireplace. XD
