Anyone getting this? I know the original was pretty shitty on 360, but I read that this one was vastly improved and had an 8-player coop mode.
A friend of mine who works at Gamestop showed me a little brochure type thing that the maker of Two World Two (TWT?) sent to all their stores, basically apologizing for making the first game It was pretty funny and they promised to make up for it with this one.
"Rise From Your Grave" I had some extra Gamestop Cash and this game is very discounted now, so I bought a copy. Ok, so maybe for 60 bucks it's not worth it, but for 25 bucks, I've been having a blast with this game. It's like Oblivion's ******ed little brother. It's not broken, but it's a little glitchy. Huge world, and plenty of quests and things to do. Decent little story, and 8 player coop missions. While they don't take up the entire map, they give you plenty to explore with 7 other players. A few classes and races to choose from and level up. I'm pretty glad I picked this up. It will hold me over until Skyrim.
In the campaign, you can only customize the main character (who can only be male, because it's part of the story). But you can mess with his face a lot, though his body remains almost the same (with some slight height and with tweaks). Online, you have a bit more freedom. Kinda like Red Dead and Phantasy Star, you online toon is different from your story mode character, and you can make him Elf, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Human (make or female). Then you get classes (including some cool mage types). Fighting is a little clumsy, but honestly, it feels better than oblivion because the character breaks into combos and stuff. Characters run like fucking idiots though, but I think the game knows that it's Oblivion's special little brother, and just runs with it. It even has some funny writing.
I really hope in Skyrim that Bethesda doesn't have the character creator skewed to 'unattractive'. I saw 2W2 at Target for $40, but for $25 I may bite.
18 bucks on Amazon if you find reliable used copy. And for that price, you can definitely overlook some of it's imperfections. I agree about Skyrim. It looks like they might not look as bad now, though.
That's the one thing about Oblivion, there's a million options in the character customization yet it's hard not to make a human character that doesn't look like a dog's ass.
I've heard the custom spell making system in Two Worlds 2 is amazing. Other than that, I haven't really heard anything that's made me want to go out and buy it, even at a discount. The stupidest thing about the Oblivion character creator was how moving one slider would actually affect numerous other sliders. I was like "Um, Bethesda, you're doing it wrong."
I was just surprised that I enjoyed it. Especially playing online with friends. The world is pretty rich and they did do some things better than Oblivion, and this is coming from an Elder's Scrolls long time fan. It's definitely going to give me something to do until Skyrim comes out.
I got this game way earlier this year and absolutely loved it. The combat is fun, being able to switch between armor and weapon sets is great, and eventually you can make your character looks like a badass. The world is fun to explore and there's a huge variety of enemies and things to see. Seriously, this game was a surprise for me. On the downside, I wouldn't play it for the story. For one, it ties strongly into the first and didn't make a whole lot of sense for a while. For two, the character animations during cinematics are pretty awful, but I did get a kick out of the dialogue even though the voice acting is fun but not great. Overall, I got a good 40 or so hours in, so it was well worth $60, BUT I bought it from a friend when they were done for $35, and that was quite a deal. EDIT: Also... CAPES! Like I said, you can make your character look like a badass eventually, and that includes wearing capes. I don't know why developers seem to avoid them like a plague.
I was considering actually finishing Oblivion and a friend suggested that I get it for PC and apply some of the mods. I was really surprised at some of the character mods. There were some that made the characters look like anime, some looked like comic book characters, but I was more surprised that a good portion of the Oblivion mods are teh pr0n! Seriously! Do not do an 'Oblivion Mods' image search at work!
I actually started looking into finishing oblivious as well lol. Thanks Liege, I didn't know about all of those future upgrades. I thought my character would continue to look like a dumbass forever.
No problem- my guy ended up looking somewhat like one on the cover(in his warrior mode), and you can use dye to change the colors. It's just that, if you play like I did, you will spend a LOT of time in that first town exploring the open safari surrounding it, and you won't see many upgrades there.
I just played online with my fiancé. Got her a copy for cheap. It ran smooth and she killed some wolves in the coop mode. I can't believe I didn't give this a chance initially but at least now I get two copies of the game for less than the price of one full priced copy.
