The intro video is insane. Looks like a sped up, juggle fest in the SF4 engine. But, it looks like a lot of fun regardless. Now let's see the Namco version.
I wonder what's up with the robot in the intro video. You know, while I'm building unrealistic expectations that the game can never meet; it would be the awesomest if you could have a player in control of each character. In other words, 4 characters -4 players! Come on Capcom! Come on. If DOA could do it in 2006... yadda yadda yadda. Oh, and I just thought of the best team possible: Akuma and Kuma.
Maybe its just me, but everyone looked kind of Squat. Like short and stubby, and chunky. ESPECIALLY, the Tekken cast. Hmmm. I think I am looking more forward to the Tekken vs SF version.
Very excited for this game, but I will withhold my judgement til I get some actual reviews and some sneak peeks on Tekken v Street Fighter to determine which game I'd rather get. Still I'd love to get a Fei/Law team going. Bruce Lee FTW!
While I sucked hard at SF4, I'm still excited. Looks like fun, especially since it looks faster than SF4. Shame I've only played Tekken 5. ...Roger Jr please
The first few Tekken games are in my view classics of the genre, in fact I'd call Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection one of the best fighting games you can buy (especially since its only 25 bucks off PSN). However a mate of mine and I rented Tekken 6 and played it for about an hour, wondering where our fighting game had gone and why was the low budget, piss poorly thought out and downright ******ed JRPG in a disc labelled 'Tekken'. Though I'm a bit of a mutant who hated Street Fighter with passion (the games anyway), thought Virtue Fighter was boring and wouldn't buy a Dead or Alive game at anything other than gunpoint. Still, maybe this over the top biff-fest will make up for the woefulness that was Tekken 6.
Giant robot thing I would assume is something from the Tekken side since it looks similar to the one you fight in Tekken 6. Definitely did enjoy the new cinematic clip along with the other one show casing new fighters. I believe this link is best for both with some promotional art: Whoops! Browser Settings Incompatible Anyhow, I still think Zangief along with Kuma would be an ideal match up. Need to see that Russian wrestle with a bear.
i think the tekken cast look pretty good in this style. something about the tekken engine tryiing to look 'realistic' puts the characters somewhere in the uncanny valley for me, but here they look cool, especially king. while the air juggles look very tekken to me, i hope they don't do any otg stuff. for me thats kind of a big part of street fighter gameplay.
really? i thought t6 was a return to form for the series. though i guess it depends on how much you like being kicked around on the floor/wall.
It seemed to me that the meat of the game was given to the boring campaign mode. It was first on the menu list and beating the actual one on one portion of the game didn’t result in an ending scene for the character. I was also disappointed in the implementation of the walls because they just resulted in a ‘bounce’. I expected the walled environments to be more like DOA.
true, some weird decisions in that regard, but overall i thought the gameplay was a solid tekken 6 out of 10.
...Does Guile really just say "somersault" in the Japanese versions of the games? Anyways, while this looks cool, I just don't care for Tekken Also, Ryu does a Shin Shoryuken as a normal (although EX'd) move. Hmm..
Well, this game has a hardcore cinematic, that's for sure. We'll have to see what else plays out. But yeah, this game is being hyped up like crazy. It better deliver.
