    That's great for PS3 users.

You already know it's gonna do just as well as it's doing on the 360.

Initially, it will run off of a blu-ray disc via a BD-Live feature. But it seems an integrated download will eventually be part of a firmware update.

You don't have to argue that one to me. I've wanted to move there for a long time.

Great news for PS3 owners, who are still getting PSN for free.

Never used Netflix. It would seem, however that getting it on your 360/PC/PS3 would be better than waiting for a disc. How does this affect, "How long you keep the movie," and returning it for another one. Is there a different plan for digital distribution?

I reserved my disc. Thanks for the info! I've been waiting for this service for a long time.

What you watch online has no affect on your disc rentals. If anything, they will let you know when a disc in your rental queue has the ability to be watched instantly.

You have a plan like one, two, or more discs out at a time and unlimited streaming videos.

Some videos come in and out of the 'Instant' queue for reasons I have yet to understand, but others have been in my queue from day one.
They don't normally have A-list new releases in the instant queue (there are A-list movies, they're just a few months behind) but you can always get the discs sent to you.

There are free month trials available all over the place and they include streaming.
Try it -you can even stream to your PC.

I wonder how it will work out though. Sony has to keep plugging BD format movies while they let Netflix bypass the necessity for a physical medium. Which puts it at an extremely uncomfortable spot, I bet.

Licensing. Netflix, on some titles, are only granted, or able to purchase, specific windows for some films or shows to be available via streaming. It's the same reason you can't watch films like Transformers 2 or Star Trek on day of release. Licensing just isn't always feasible for those, or simply is not offered to them.

Not at all. They do offer digital downloads that are much more consumer friendly compared to the 360. Sony has been pushing the PS3 as the multimedia hub for your entertainment center. If they can steal a few hundred thousand users from MS by offerign Netflix, then they would (and did) gladly jump at the opportunity.

Yeah I've been renting movies from PSN for a while, and in great quality. It doesn't interfere with my BluRay purchases because BR are reserved for movies that I absolutely want to own, but I rent what I don't think I'll watch multiple times. Netflix just seems like a better way of doing it.

    I love it on Brobox.:thumb

The streaming of tv shows alone is worth it and i just have the new movies shipped.

I hate the extra charge for bluray though:(

I got my Netflix for PS3 Blu-ray disc yesterday and tried it out. I'm very impressed. The shows available in HD looked just like my Dish Network HD feed and they loaded up pretty quickly. The interface is clever and works well, although a search feature would be nice. It's a slight pain to have to put the disc in the drive but I understand the legal reasons and I do that anyway to watch a blu-ray. At this point I'm seriously considering buying another PS3 so I can have one in the bedroom.

I used mine last night too to watch some IT crowd (which is a great show btw). The interface works well and it's very fast. I didn't have any frame rate issues or picture quality problems at all. Worked like a charm!

This is awesome. If they just work on the voice chat abilities of the PS3, they're getting closer to me dropping the 360 all together. I'd miss some friends on there, but I truly feel like the PS3 has the most potential out of both systems.
