Yes, the DS is pretty much a Gameboy, but it is different and I want a gameboy!
The last release for a gameboy was that tiny little one and I didn't really like it, i sold it. But i kept my SP, Advanced and Colour.
Do you think that Nintendo should bring out a new Gameboy?

I don't think they should, it'd seem like a step back after the touch screen

If Nintendo really wants to make the next GameBoy and cater to GameBoy fans, then make something like a "GameBoy Quattro" / "GameBoy DS."
Quattro, for 4 modes of play. A system that is specifically built to play GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, and DS games. With 4 libraries and 20+ years worth of games behind it's back, the system would be one hell of a device that is worth every penny. And to make it even more worth it, IF POSSIBLE, a system that is able to use most of the past add-ons and accessories from the older systems (printers, cameras, link cables, etc).
The system itself would also be seen as a "Thank You" to all the fans that have kept the GameBoy brand running for 20 years and a device to celebrate GameBoy's historic 20 years of gaming on the go. WANTED: The Rooster Hat from Scribblenauts(Special Pre-Order item).
*IF anyone's EB Games/Gamestops have leftover hats that no one picked up & can get me 2-(even if you must buy the game twice) then PM me ASAP!
