#2 | | Emerald Frosion Join Date: Aug 2006 Posts: 2,539 Location: Rotherham, UK | No official system exists that plays NES/SNES cartridges but you can download NES/SNES games from Nintendo's Virtual Console on the Wii.
There was that custom made console made with the outer shell of a toaster that could switch between playing different cartridges but that was a one of a kind made ages ago.
Unless you mean emulation on PC's and such? Quote:

All I could find additionally was on wikipedia and we all know it isn't always 100% correct. #9 | | he eats raw fish Join Date: Jul 2002 Posts: 6,079 Location: truro, ns Collection Count: 120ish | the best one out there right now is the retro duo. compatability is great. i've had one myself since june. there isn't a nes or snes game that i own that doesn't run on it, including super mario rpg and star fox which i hear most clone systems have trouble with. i also have a european mortal kombat 2 that i got in a lot once which i always assumed was useless and it even works with it. i'd highly recommend it. |

The patents on the individual gaming systems have expired allowing third-party manufacturers to market NES, SNES, SMS, and Genesis/MegaDrive clones. What Toma says matches with everything I've heard and read about the Retro Duo. Though it's not really a problem for me if it freezes up on Battletoads; I wasn't getting much further than the second or third level anyway.
