New system that plays NES/SNES games

I know there is a system out there that plays Nintendo games and one that plays both Nintendo and Super Nintendo games. Does anyone know what it is called? Thanks Olds

No official system exists that plays NES/SNES cartridges but you can download NES/SNES games from Nintendo's Virtual Console on the Wii.

There was that custom made console made with the outer shell of a toaster that could switch between playing different cartridges but that was a one of a kind made ages ago.

Unless you mean emulation on PC's and such?

There is a console that exists. I have seen it once. But for the life of me I can't remember what it is called. There is two consoles. One that plays just NES games and one that plays nNES. and SNES

I can list you every official console ever made that supports SNES and NES cartridges if its not one of these then its a home brew console and by the description it certainly sounds that way

Nintendo Entertainment System/Famicom
Super Nintendo Entertainment System/Super Famicom

Or its this item http://gizmodo.com/234080/fc-twin-sn...hybrid-console called the FC Twin

I did more digging as I was floored that i hadn't heard of it until searching for it for this thread and was right to assume its an emulator rather than an official console. All I could find additionally was on wikipedia and we all know it isn't always 100% correct.

the best one out there right now is the retro duo. compatability is great. i've had one myself since june. there isn't a nes or snes game that i own that doesn't run on it, including super mario rpg and star fox which i hear most clone systems have trouble with. i also have a european mortal kombat 2 that i got in a lot once which i always assumed was useless and it even works with it. i'd highly recommend it.

There a couple of machines out there on the market. The FC twin, the Retro Duo, and the Gen-X are only a few of those systems.

The patents on the individual gaming systems have expired allowing third-party manufacturers to market NES, SNES, SMS, and Genesis/MegaDrive clones. What Toma says matches with everything I've heard and read about the Retro Duo. Though it's not really a problem for me if it freezes up on Battletoads; I wasn't getting much further than the second or third level anyway.
