Hey guys im not even sure how to describe the problem I was playing COD4 earlier when all of a sudden the screen went ... "fuzzy" it was like looking into a cartoon , infact it made the game look alot like that 13 game from a while back, after a while it went back to normal but then it changed to this permanantly I rang my friend at my local game store and he told me he saw one like it last week but had no idea what the problem is, its not just the game because its the same on my dash board and ive tried turning on and off and removing all the cables anyone have any similar experiences thanks
Everyone does. Call Microsoft -tell them your console has RROD and see if they tell you they won't fix it. The Ring FTW!!
well after ringing 7 times and several emails to show proof of purchase i think there going to take it however ......... i just switched it on again and now im not getting any screen, just black, im getting sound though cos i can hear it just no picture , how odd
Sounds like you'll be getting the E74 error soon. Happened to me twice with the first one happening before the error was free to repair.
How old is the console. Most likely, is the GPU being burned out as mentioned by others. Though, you might not want to rule out a possible TV problem as well. If you test it on a second TV with the same results, it'll also help your claim with MS.
It's not irony but it's enraging, same thing just happened to my 360. It went to "smeary cell shaded graphics" then kapow. Nothing. Tried three TV, 2 different power blocks, two different AV/Component Cables and nothing. I'm not really in the mood to be told this isn't covered under warranty and that my one year warranty expired 7 months ago. RAGE. So I'm waiting until tomorrow or so to call.
Hey i got mine taken back under the 3 red rings problem so got the 3 year warranty, if that doesnt fix the problem then i at least havent lost any money
So did you eventually get the RROD? Or did Microsoft just replace it anyway? I'm trying to force mine to RROD now but it gets so hot that it powers off. My controller no longer powers it on, nor syncs to it but the bastard won't Red Ring!
Not that anyone cares but I sent off my 360 on Friday and it's on it's way back today! That seems much faster than some of the horror stories I've read. Downside is they gave me a tracking number for UPS that isn't a UPS tracking number.
I have sent off consoles before that did not Red Ring and Microsoft fixed them anyway. If your Xbox is broke, they ain't arguing people!
And how! I've read recently, possibly on Kotaku, that any unit that has the symptoms, or attributed symptoms of the RROD that they get replaced. So, essentially anything that isn't physical/accidental damage seems to be be covered.
