With hopes of starting a bidding war, the deadline for all bids ended Wednesday afternoon. But unfortunately for Midway, it turns out only one bidder was interested.
"No other bids came in, so there's not going to be an auction," said Geoff Mogiln, a spokesman for Midway.
Warner Bros. offer includes the majority of Midway Games' assets, including Mortal Kombat, Spy Hunter, Joust, the Wheelman franchise, and two of the four development studios.
The deal is not official yet, as the court overseeing the bankruptcy must first resolve several legal battles, including the case involving Tigon Studios over a contract dispute for the voice and name of actor Vin Diesel from the Wheelman series.
The next hearing to address these cases is July 1, which means we could see approval of the bid weeks later. | even though there aren't many good games from Midway, i thought there would of been more bidders than one. |

seems that Capcom/MK crossover is now seriously impossible.
But cheer up. Joust: The movie with Keanu Reeves is a possibility.... Quote: |
