They don't, they just don't have the time or money to recode for the PS3. 360 and PC are ridiculously similar in coding so its easy to make the game on both of those. They're already ridiculously busy as is (new portal game, Half Life 2 Episode 3, TF2 supporting, L4D supporting).

ALSO, if anybody is wondering about PC VS 360, get PC, you'll be getting free downloadable content regularly afterwards (see new maps, levels, achievements, etc.)

You statement is conflicted by the fact that they already have a Source engine running for PS3 (Orange Box) and the fact that Gabe simply likes to shoot shit out of his mouth whenever somebody dares asks about PS3. I feel bad for PS3 owners over stuff like this, there is no reason to leave PS3 owners out on this. He reminds me at times of the whiny business types who will cry and fight tooth and nail to avoid working around any tiny new problem no matter how much money it makes them. That said, he and Valve are doing great things for the PC gaming industry.

That said, I will most likely get this. Not gonna preorder it on Steam, but I might venture into the wilds of retail to find a good deal on the game when it comes out.

PS3 version of the Orange box was a bespoke version done by an EA team. Valve didn't touch that version at all so it's not quite that easy. Valve simply doesn't have the staff at present to crank out a PS3 version.

Not to mention the fact that Valve really wasn't proud of how the PS3 version turned out after EA got done with it, frame rate issues, connection problems and loading times (Portal was the wtf offender on that one), and it wasn't even Valve's fault. If they get around to making ports I'm sure they'd make sure it was done right the first time.

Left 4 Dead Demo is up on Steam and Xbox Live.

It's kinda short but hey, 4-player co-op in a DEMO. I'm really diggin the director system. I've only gone through it twice but i've already quite a number of differences from each playthrough. Default controls can be a bit funky, especially if you play too much Halo.

Haha ran through this with Smang, GogoShark and DaggersRage last night, good times. We cranked the difficulty up and it was disaster after disaster after disaster.

Good times.

Yeah, it was crazy how much crap the CPU threw at us last night, and working as a cohesive team is actually pretty hard as there are no hard and fast roles to be played.
