PS3 2.50, PSP 5.0 Firmware Updates Available

PS3 2.50, PSP 5.0 firmware now available in North America [update] - Joystiq

New PS3 and PSP Firmware updates are available. The PS3 Firmware adds Flash 9 to the browser. I would love to know if Hulu now works within the browser.

Damn, I HOPE so because then we don't need Playon, not to mention that mine goes in and out of working still. I wonder if Hulu works soley on flash or if there still needs to be some sort of compressor.

I wonder what the PSP version brings.

I think the PS Store for the PSP launches with this version of the firmware. Which means more downloable content for the PSP.

BADASS. I also heard that starting next year, any game available in stores will also be downloadable. Now while I do like having a hard copy of games I own, especially if the cover art is nice, with the PSP it does save on carrying crap with me everywhere. Now, what I would like is buying a hard copy that could come with some kind of code that allowed me to download the digital copy, but It would only work on my PSP or something so people wouldn't be spreading games for free. Then again, people would download it and sell their hard copy, so not such a good idea... Bad Windcharger. Still, it's a very nice option.

I wish Sony would talk to their 3rd parties and get some PS1 games up for downloads that aren't first party.

Would love to take some FF7-8-or 9 on the road with me, and the psp could handle it, minus dual analog and shock...eh, always kinks to work out

I agree with you and no worries in the 7-9 department. I remote play 9 at work with my PSP and the controls are great.

I really want even some obscure classics like Legacy of Kain, Arc the Lad series, Chrono Cross. Etc Etc

Arg, no Ps3 so no remote play, plus have satellite internet at home(shudder) since we're in the boonies so wouldn't work.

Soul Raver: LoK theres a game I aint thought of in forever, shame Sony doesn't tap into nostalgia like Nintendo does sadly.

yeah I was thinking the same thing. If I owned a Wii, the reason would be the VC, so I wish Sony would do the same thing. They've had some nice ones in there, like Castlevania, Twisted Metal, Warhawk, and Wild Arms, but we need more.
