Good news! Even if it is not released in the US it may make a good import seeing as how US and Japan share the same BR regions, and games are not region locked on the PS3.

A japanese demo coming out in March? Gah! What's wrong with these guys, start living in your office sleeping under your desks and say farewell to your family members like the good old days and get this damn game done. If a demo comes out in Japan in March then we can expect the game in the states in about the year 2033.

...this is Square, we're talking about. Much as we don't like it, they're one of the studios that're allowed to take however the hell long they like to kick out a project. It also probably doesn't help that they're collectively working on a bajillion games.

I imagine this package will make its way to the US, eventually. Sony's looking for any reason to sell people on the PS3 and this can be one such highlight.
