A little Playstation 3 help...

is there a PS3 out now that has the PS2 backwards compatibility? I've been considering one now that Blu Ray won and MGS4 looks stupendously amazing, but i really would like the B.C. (i've probably got 30 ps2 games floating around i'd still like to play now and then) but i see the new 4 bill 80 gigger does not have it...

I read through the specs on Sonys PS3 site and got more confused (it's a really terrible site for info...)

I just saw the MGS4 bundle at a local Wal Mart. Thats the last of them that still has BC, it is half software based and not 100% though.

In stores, its just the 80 gig. The 40 gig is the konami.com exclusive gunmetal grey limited edition.

Yeah if you get the 80 gb you get BW compatibility, you can check the games on PS's website for which ones are and how they work. the 40 gb has no BW compatibility unfortunatly. I snagged a 60 gb back in the day and glad I did.

Konami's I think was just as expensive as the reg 80 gig. Anyhow the BC on the 80 gig is software based and dosen't cover all PS2 games.

as i understand it the number of compatible games has increased with firmware updates?
(sorry if some of this is noobish, i really didn't pay much mind to the ol' ps3 until the whole blu ray/HD dvd war ended)
