Ya, that's what I don't get.......this has to be the most complex/complicating mechanic they've ever added into a Pokémon Game.


Also, who else finds it funny, we get a form of a previous starter, instead of the actual final evolutions for Fennekin, Chespin and Froakie?


You know, as long as these Mega forms only happen to starters and fan favourites, than just random, what the hell pokemon, I think it's going to be okay. Imagine what the anime will be like when they show Blazing transform into Megablaziken.


Lastly, do you guys think, that these pokemon will keep the term Mega in their name? Or will they be given a new name in their form or perhaps keep the same name?

Couple weeks ago, I posted (or someone else) a list of supposed Japanese Pokémon names.....well look who's on it.

Dianshii (ディアンシー) — Possibly a deer Pokémon. It’s name could come from deer + fancy + antsy.
Hariboogu (ハリボーグ) — Most likely the evolution of Chespin — Hari (ハリ) comes from pin/needle, boogu (ボーグ) or bogue, is the name of the shell of a chestnut is French. Thanks to belmad for this tip-off!
Gekogashira (ゲコガシラ) — Possibly from gecko + boss. Gashira means either head or boss. Possibly a Froakie evolution.
Borukenion (ボルケニオン) — Probably Volcanyon — likely boruke (ボルケ) from volcano and nion (ニオン) from canyon.
Dedenne (デデンネ)
Horubii (ホルビー) — Likely comes from horu (ホル) to dig + bee.
Nyaonikusu (ニャオニクス) — Probably Meowstick, as mentioned in a previous leak
Burigaron (ブリガロン) — Maybe a blizzard wolf: buri (ブリ) from blizzard (burizaado) + garo (ガロ / 牙狼) meaning fanged wolf. It could also come from garou (餓狼) meaning starving wolf.
Jigarude (ジガルデ) — Is possibly from Jiga (ジガ / 自我), which means ego.
Mafokushii (マフォクシー) — Is possibly an evolution of Fennekin: Mafoxy
Fuupa (フーパ) — fuu (フー) is most likely wind, pa (パ) could be many things.
Gekkouga (ゲッコウガ) — Gekkou (ゲッコウ) means moonlight + ga (ガ) is moth. Literally moonlight moth.
Torimian (トリミアン)
Teerunaa (テールナー) — Possibly related to Gekkouga. Teeru (テール) means tail and runaa (ルナー) means lunar.

 

The name "MegaMawile" kind of kills that, though.

I get the feeling Zoroark will get a Mega form. Imagine the hair on that thing, It would be like SS3 Goku.

So assuming these are real then, I hope this Luna Moth is a counterpart to Volcarona, the Sun Pokemon.

Bug/Water, Moon Pokemon? Everything Masquerain could have been?

 

Ok I want a red and blue 2 since black and white 2 and I think I know what the covers can be. Mega charizard and mega blastoise! Just a dream.

I want a mega gyrados. I hope theses mega forms are more like a super sayin change then a permanent one. Now pokemon and dragonball are super alike with mega forms.

Also another thing. If you look at mega blazikin (sorry if spelt wrong ) it looks like it has a x shape from it head and lucario has a y for its body.

 

By rumours and what they have said, Mega forms can only be accessed in battle, increasing stats, adding a type or replacing one and changing the form as a last resort to win. However it is unknown is there is a massive con to this yet. To me there has to be a major buff or Smogon will go crazy.

With the distribution of these mega forms, I think it's safe to say, the forms will only be given to starters and massive fan favourites, such as Sableye, Dunsparce and all those guys.


It's very unlikely they would give mega forms to all pokemon or distribute them in a very unbalanced random way.



To me, there also has to be a "Mega Battle" room or something like a sky battle, but it can only be mega vs mega.

I wonder how this new gym leader will utilize her pokemon, I mean, she is suppose to be all about mega forms, but they have been given to pokemon with all different types. So is she going to have a random amount of pokemon who use mega forms or will she have only one type of pokemon, with the type being based off one of her pokemon who have a mega form?

Like, she has MegaBlaziken, so the rest of her pokemon would be either fire type or fighting type.

 

I got back into the series after rewatching some of the classic episodes. I'm thinking about getting a 3DS for the upcoming new games. How do Black and White and the other DS games work on the 3DS?

 

There better be a mega Charizard.

 

They work just like they would if you put the game into any other DS. The DS games just don't have any 3D capabilities so that feature turns itself off when you play them on a 3DS.

 

I knew MegaBlaziken looked familiar!

 

My thoughts on each Mega Form:

Blaziken: Bad-ass. I like it more than the original design.
Lucario: As if Lucario couldn't get even more Deviant Arty.
Ampharos: Why does it look like Brian May from Queen?
Mawile: Wouldn't a new evolution make more sense?
Mewtwo: Didn't like it at first, but now I think it's fine.
Absol: Again, why can't they just make it a new evolution rather than a form?

A guy in BW2 who rambled about "unlocking the hidden potential in Pokemon" using this machine he built which did nothing at the time except scare some Crustle.

But yeah Mega Pokemon. That's sure something. I really hope that this doesn't diminish the chances of Mawile getting a permanent evolution.

Also Speed Boast Torchic is comming....hopefully Contrary Serperior is on it's way.

 

So Mega Pokémon, is that some kind of new 4th evolution?

Because they pretty much discussed, that these are only alternate forms that can be activated in battle, like a super saiyan.

It is not a 4th evolution.

 

Well, if that's the case, I hope there is a Mega form of Scyther or Scizor.

 

Not feeling that new rabbit pokemon but I hope the evolution is alot better looking.

 

So I feel that the rabbit is this gens early rodent pokemon.

 

Me too, it's evolution also has a few possibilities, however I'm wishing it evolves into a jackalope.

Of course it's no rocket science that Dedenne is this gens Pikachu.
