I do have to agree the next Gen really needs to step it up and i will echo the need for a dark gym.

What is so hard about having a Dark Gym....I mean Fairy type got its own gym in the first gen it was created in?

perhaps the reason their wasnt a dark type gym at debut was due to the fact that there werent many dark moves that dealt damage. bite crunch and pursuit.

I'm assuming that the reason there's no Dark-type gym is that half the evil teams use Dark-type Pokemon nowadays, so Gamefreak could probably make the excuse that traipsing around the villains' HQ technically counts as a dark-type gym.

    Ok taht would make sense.

Plus the only dark types were Murkrow. Houndoom and Umbreon...hard to make a gym out of that....then again that didn't stop Steel either with Steelix and Magnemite.

    Probably the case.

I kinda like the idea but it's too predictable...dark types are evil LMAO.

Actually, those three could make a decent Gym for like an early/halfway point, since Houndoom is okay, Umbreon's pretty tanky and Murkrow is a nice starter. Besides, any Gym can have a variety of Mons big or strong, so it's all good.

As for dark = evil, it's funny actually, because in Japan, they are literally classified as the 'Evil' type. It's why most of their moves tend to be dirty/pragmatic attacks, like Taunt, Torment, Beat Up, all that stuff, and why they are defeated by the honourable Fighting and the too-simple-to-be-tricked Bugs.

    ^^^^ and fairy type!

well, as far as "well steel didnt have much either" goes ....
1- Steelix is REALLY high def and as such is a challenge.
2- magnetmite had a new type, so if you hadnt noticed ... here is the chance!
3- Steel itself was half damage to everything and immune to poison. only electric and water did SE damage. so getting past steel would be more challenging than dark.

but hey, 3 gens DARK was an E4 type. Will, Sidney, and Grimsley. they skipped sinnoh for whatever reason. so you have to ask why is dark E4 worthy, but not always steel with its myriad of resists? Steel has been and e4 type but i dont think as often as dark, and this gen steel was weakened taking neutral damage from ghost and dark now.
still looking for that pokeball pattern vivillon!

They're now reporting that the announcement has been removed from the official website... Wonder what that's about.

Edit: The official announcement is back on Pokemon.com. It also now explains to get Hoopa: "connect to Nintendo Zone after logging on to the free Wi-Fi that is available inside participating McDonald's restaurants".
