I agree since why have a feature available if it isn't going to be used and those are some good points there especially since having event item on Wifi would be perfect since People would be able to get it around the world and with gas prices as they are, a convenience.

Is anyone else looking forward to Platinum? I'm excited for the thought of getting to do the underground over wireless, and not needing to have a second DS to expand the secret bases.

Also, has anyone got the Mystery Dungeon games? Are they worth the money?

 

I'm looking forward to Plantinum, but some news has been released that confuses me. There's reported to be 3 new areas in the game that are unlocked by using a special Regigas that is being given away with tickets for Pokemon Movie 11 in Japan. Now we definatly won't be getting the film in cinemas in the west and events are hardly regular also, so I wonder what Nintendo of America intends to do about this when the games are ported over here.
When I think about it...its also kinda wrong that Nintendo in Japan assumes that everyone who plays the game would want to go and see a Pokemon movie, or even like the anime for that matter.

As for the Mystery Dungeon games, I can't vouch for the new ones as they're not out in the UK 'til next week, but I played the original DS one and it wasn't that great.

 

I'm sure someone will want to shoot me for even suggesting this but, preorder bonus for Platinum *prepares to dodge bullets*

The original Mystery Dungeon was design for GBA actually, so it's no wonder why it's more than a bit underwhelming.

 

I'm definitely looking forwards to Platinum... as well as Shaymin's alternate form, though it looks kind of hideous...

I suggest, for those interested in Platinum to keep their eyes out for Pokemon Movie 11: Giratina and the Sky Bouquet: Shaymin. It was through this movies trailers that we got our first taste of Giratina's origin forme. Also, considering Giratina is the cover monster for the Platinum, this movie is majorly like going to tie in. In the newest trailer I saw, Sky Forme Shaymin appears. If you'd like, I can put up some links ^_^

Confirmed information about Platinum:
-The game will feature Giratina as its mascot and introduce its Origin Forme as seen in Giratina to Sora no Hanataba: Sheimi.
-Its initial forme is referred to as its Another Forme
-The new storyline will involve a disturbance atop Mt. Coronet, as a portal to the "Ruined World" is opened and Sinnoh's climate becomes colder.
-The trainers have been given new outfits to suit the colder climate.
-New NPCs that revolve around the "Ruined World" and climate change storyline.
-The legendary Pokémon Shaymin, which will be distributed as part of admitance to the film Giratina to Sora no Hanataba: Sheimi, will also have an alternate forme in Platinum, known as its "Sky Forme" a dual Grass and Flying-type Pokémon.
-When traded from Diamond or Pearl to Platinum, Shaymin will transform from its regular Land Forme into its Sky Forme.
-It is yet unknown what role Shaymin plays in the story of Platinum.
-When the special Regigigas that is given out with a pre-order ticket for Giratina to Sora no Hanataba: Sheimi is traded from Diamond or Pearl to Platinum, it activates an event that makes Regice, Regirock, and Registeel available in Platinum.

Rumored/Unconfirmed Info:
-Regigigas get's a Sky Forme or another form
-Underground will now be Wi-Fiable
-New area like the Battle Frontier from Emerald (beyond the Resort areas already in existance)
-Announcement of Gold/Silver remakes in 1 year, data for Johto as a region you can get Pokemon in exists in D/P (filler games like FireRed/LeafGreen)
-Arceus to get 1 more additional form, currently labeled as ??? form in D/P

 

I hated it as a hedgehog, but thats just horrible.
Changes shape as soon as its on Platinum, is only a stupid hedgehog on D/P.

As a matter of fact, I've been looking for a Latias. It's not the last one I need, but for some reason I'm having a problem finding anyone willing to trade one.

At any rate, Platinum looks like it'll have some pretty cool new features, but I'm not planning on getting it. I'm happy with the Diamond version I've got.

Bulbapedia (the pokemon wiki) has an image of Shaymin's "Sky Forme". Basically when it's in Platinum it'll be in that form and when it's in Diamond/Pearl it's in it's hedgehog looking "Land Forme". Same thing with Giratina having it's "Origin Forme" in Platinum and "Another Forme" for D/P.
