Every time I turn it off I slide the lock over to prevent it being accidentally turned on . Yet with out fail, if it sits for a bit it will some how get turned on and start playing the Beatles. This inevitably leads to the battery being dead when I pull it out to use it. I have also noticed on incredibly long road trips that it will go from shuffle to playing the Beatles.
I've done a lot of searching for the cause and a possible solution online but have had zero luck. So does any one here have any idea whats going on and how to fix it? (Ask my roommate) News Credits: 3 | If you hold the play button down, it will turn off, but if it registers a key press it will turn back on, so in that regard I guess it is still on. But no functions are being performed except awaiting a keypress. Either way, if your hold switch is not working, you have a hardware error most likely. I would try a full software restore, otherwise its hardware and you'll need a new one as the 30 GB is way out of date. **My Junkion Exchange Feedback** ** My Flickr Gallery- Robots and Transformers GALORE!!!11** **MY HUGE FOR_SALE THREAD!!** |

I knew, but I didn't even think of it.
I stumbled across the alarm when I got my first Ipod a few years ago.
It seemed like a completely worthless feature.
I'm like, okay, if I go to sleep with the headphones on then my Ipod will wake me up at 7:00.
I know you can plug external speakers into the minijack, but chances are that if you are somewhere that you have external speakers you probably have an alarm clock as well. Xbox Live :Adam Smasher |

If you fully turn it off then it has to boot up and takes much longer. Which method is better is a matter of opinion but Apple decided to go with the sleep mode.
