So anyways, about a week after Christmas, while playing through Mass Effect asecond time, my 360 got the RROD. Yay. I sent it in, it takes a few weeks, everything is cool. Now, I am playing GTA 4. The system has been on for several hours, and the screen turns blank. Ok. I turn it off, hit the eject button, and there it is, the RROD.
I'm calm I'm calm. Now, my 360 is out in the open, my games are spotless, I use only MS brand products. When you send in your 360, what exactly is MS doing to repair it? Shoveling replacement parts of the same faulty stuff? Is everyone just sitting on ticking time bombs with there new/repaired systems waiting for it to happen again? By the way, this is the third time for me. The first time I swapped it for a replacement under a store warranty. I play video games, I work video games, I take care of may games. This shouldn't happen. |

I heard the elite's aren't going to suffer from this problem (though time will ultimately tell), and if that is true, are they repairing systems up to the standard of the parts used in an elite, or just replacing the problematic parts with the same parts, only new, non damaged versions, that will put me/everyone in the same situation again down the road? |

Chances are that you are getting a refurbished system w/ new parts in it not your old machine that was sent in. Quote:

| the elites also suffer from RROD. every 360 model they've ever made does. hopefully the new revision coming in the fall will finally take care of it. |

Oh well, sucks for all of us that own one, but I still like the system and I'm not going to curse the existance of MS or anything. I actually JUST got off the phone with setting up another repair. Kinda painless minus the persons accent. This time, being the second time, they are having me send the power cord in. |
