Went to blockbuster and rented a ton of games, as soon as I booted Bioshock I get the screen freeze and rings of death. I knew I shouldn't have said I was lucky last night to my friend. I friggin Jynxed myself. Looks like this RRoD is way too common. I am the last person I knew this hasn't happened to. Now everyone I know has had a dead 360. Tiime to boot up the PS3 I guess. The useless paperweight it is.

Ah dang. My bro has been through 4 360's, not all of them got RRoD, but all of them had problems.

Myself, I just traded in my year old 360 for a new one with the new mobo and HDMI port. Finally pays to have extended insurance on a console.

I fully agree on the warrenty. I have been through 4 myself. But I have never had the rrod. Mine have simply over heated or the DVD drive stopped reading disks. And yes, it is well ventalted. Since I only have a glass AV rack to put them on. No sides, or back means good ventalation.

Sorry about that mate. Looks like you got two dead paper-weights now. The rings only happened to me once, but they happened and the worst time.. I had a warranty, but the xboxes were still in short supply so I had to wait about a month to get one.

Now I am just looking to buy one for November, but under the recommendation of some of the folks here, I'm am going to wait until more of the new chipset it out. I really don't want the rings when I am rebuying the system for one game. If it crashes while I'm playing that game, I'll kill myself.

I once farted on the set of Blue Lagoon.

That was the plan today. At least one of the games I rented was Ninja Gaiden. So my PS3 will finally get a workout.

I await eagerly to hear what the "towel trick" is all about.

Is this kinda like the "blow" trick of the old NES, where you would blow on the games to make them work?
