PS2 Component Video Cable and HDTV worth it or not?

OK, There no way I can get a PS3 or X-box360 before August so is it worth it to buy the Component Video Cables for the PS2?

I plan to buy God of War II this week and I just wanted to know if those that have HDTV's and no next gen systems have these cables. and if they are worth anything.

Thanx

If you're going HD, components are the way to go. It doesn't hurt that the cables are compatible with PS3.

Well when I get my PS3 it will be HDMI, I just wanted to know if the component cables were worth it.

So Samana Rombuca thank you.

I think that I'll buy GOWII and the cables tomorrow.

I got the official Sony ones for under 10 bucks, and honestly, it depends on the game. Some games look worse, but a few games really do look decently better. It's still the PS2, so its not going to be anything huge, but if you can get them for cheap you might as well.

its just sharpens the image on most games, and allows you to use progressive scan on the games that support it. i think it makes my ps2 games look nicer.

ps, don't listen to Twin Twist, he tell me that i need to use s-video to get progressive scan.

It's completely worth it, especially on games that support progressive scan.

Here's the most comprehensive list of PS2 games that support Progressive Scan.
