I've decided to use most of my Christmas money to buy an Xbox 360. So far, the only games I'm sure about picking up are Dead Rising and Halo. What are some other "must have" titles?

Also, what games from the Original Xbox lineup are worth picking up (that work on the 360???)

 

Halo 2, Gears Of War, Burnout Revenge, subscription to Xbox Live. if you get bored shooting guys and crashing cars online, I don't know what to tell you!

In all seriousness, that's as good a list as any of cherry picked games. However, you're mileage may vary depending on whether you have a port of a listed title already and what your tastes are in general. Hope that helps!  

 

i'd also say Soul Calibur II...but if you have a GC, get that version instead, Link is way better than Spawn.

Other games would be any of the Prince of Persia games, GTA games, LEGO Star Wars I & II, and Ninja Gaiden BLACK.

Games that didnt interest me but it might interest you are Halo, Halo 2, Fable, and Gears of War.

 

If your 360 is not hooked up to a HD TV, you might want to stay away from Dead Rising as you can't read anything without HD.

Besides the games listed, Viva Pinata is pretty nice, and Lost Planet is out in a few weeks and just simply rocks(tyr the Demos on marketplace first, the E3 Single Player is the older one, and has a bug or to).

 

Since Lost Planet and Dead Rising are both made by Capcom, Lost Planet may have the same issue with text on standard TVs.

 

IS text really necessary for that game? Is it still possible to play even if you can't read it clearly???

 

Capcom already fixed the HD only text issue in Lost Planet. Even had screen caps of it.

And I told text is nice in Dead Rising, but I cant answer that myself, never played it, plus I got a HD TV now.

Crap! You can't play Morrowind on the 360?!? That's my favorite XBOX game of all time...Burnout 3 is a close second, though.

Umm... theres 2 game titles there. Elders Scrolls III: Morrowind, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I'll assume you're talkin about Elder Scrolls IV.

 

the splinter cell games are great. If you like the Tom Clancy games than get the greatest hits 3 pack. They are good games. Halo 2, Star Wars Battlefront games are good too.

I just picked up Double Agent for my 360 for 40 bucks at Best Buy. Sweet. Have Ghost Recon, that game is tough but cool.

 

Go get the games from Burger King, all 3 are fun, especially for $4 each.

 

It isn't that bad, IMO. I played it on a standard 32" TV just fine.

 

The text on Dead Rising is really bad. It wasn't until I hooked up my 360 to my Monitor via the VGA cable that I could finally read the text.

Still, I would recommend it to you as it is my Favorite 360 game.

Also, Get Gears of War, Lost Planet, and COD2: Game of the year edition.


If you like fighting games, Dead or Alive 4 is a great next gen fighter.

If you are into the dynasty Warriors games, then I strongly recommend getting 99 Nights, as I am having a blast with it.


Also, get the Burger King games, as for $4, they are pretty fun.
