Today, Sega made the shocking (or not so shocking, depending on what camp you're in) announcement that the next title in its Virtua Fighter series will be coming to the Xbox 360. VF 5 had originally been announced as PS3-exclusive.
“Those people lucky enough to have already played Virtua Fighter 5 [in the arcades] will know that it’s laid the foundations to become the clear benchmark for fighting games on all next generation consoles”, said Matt Woodley, Creative Director, SEGA Publishing Europe Ltd. “Bringing Virtua Fighter 5 to the Xbox 360 offers us a platform with power to handle the astonishing visuals, the complex and varied fighting styles of all the customisable characters and will undoubtedly put Virtua Fighter 5 into the hands of a gaming audience craving for a highly polished and credible fighting game.”
Virtua Fighter 5 for 360 is slated for a late summer release, while the PS3 version should be out in February. | |

| It wasnt proven false, Konami just said "not at this time", which is sometimes video game company-talk for "We're going to do it, but we're not gonna say anything about it yet because we want really high initial sales on the first system" |

Theres a reason why its so big in japan, bigger than Tekken or Soul Calibur. Those two you can pick up and button smash your way through a round. Virtua Fighter takes incredible skill and technique that if you were to go in smashing buttons you'd be KOed in seconds. http://www.myspace.com/honestpanda POWET.TV Quote: |

PS3 has how many systems in homes compared to the 360?
Sega just wanted to actually make money on the domestic release of the game. You may see a lot of developers making many games available to the 360 just to insure a profitable game. In about a year when PS3's are more readily available, you'll see more "exclusive PS3" games. Quote: |

VF has got loads of depth whereas Soul Calibur and especially Tekken feel shallow in comparison. |
