It has long been questioned just how you can control the Virtual Console games on the upcoming Wii. Do we need to buy a classic controller? Can we use GameCube controllers? How many games can the Wiimote control?

Nintendo has answered these questions with a handy chart it has on this page. I've included the chart below for your viewing pleasure. It looks like the safe bet is getting the classic controller. But for those of us who already owned a GameCube, we'll be able to play all but some Genesis games.

so even if Genesis and TF-16 games might be able to use the GC controller, i'll still pick up a classic controller.

Good to know that you can still use the Gamecube controllers, but I think I'll pick the Classic controller as well, depending on how much it costs.

When you go to the detail menu for each VC game when you are buying it shows what controllers it works with, so far all the games on support the Wiimote, VC controller, and Cube controller.
