Bah, TLOU Remastered is barely a remaster at all, a buddy of mine on facebook posted a screenshot of TLOU Remastered and the background looked like it was rendered in GMOD

Yes, but I enjoyed replaying GTAV and TLOU again more than any other game I have played this year.

BTW, I don't know what your buddy was showing you, but the remaster to TLOU is freaking amazing. The 60 fps is absolutely gorgeous.

As for Tomb Raider, I never actually played it on the PS3/360, so the PS4 was my first time.

Does anyone else find it a bit sad that some of the best games available for the new generation of consoles are games were made for the previous generation? In a way it also just shows how amazing The Last of Us and GTA V are that they can still be major GOTY competitors.

    -Shadow of Mordor
    -Dragon Age Inquisition
    -Pokemon Alpha/Omega
    -Tales of Xillia 2
    -Hyrule Warriors

Shadow of Mordor would be my favourite this year though.

The only games that I've enjoyed have been Lords of the fallen and Alien isolation. Borderlands TPS and farcry 4 were both mediocre and Shadow of Mordor was slightly better, but could have been better if it weren't for that anti climactic ending.

    Easy.

Kind of a garbage year for videogames, all things told. Some good stuff, but nothing that's made me lose my fucking mind.

This year had good games, but you had to step outside of the two main current gen consoles to play them.

Wait, I thought you already picked DOTA 2 for last year?

    Not sure.
I'd say Shadow of Mordor is up there.
If constantly updated games count, then SWTOR. I love it. Heck, the grinding can be fused into the story.
    I'd say TF2, but RIP.

6.82 patch had a huge effect on the metagame, changes to Phantom Lancer, Bloodseeker and the addition of Oracle make it a new game. GOTY this year. GOTY next year. GOTY every year.

If we're talking about MOBAs, Smite takes the cake for me. I prefer moving with my keyboard and not playing click simulator. Better learning curve too.

I mean you're entitled to a misinformed and wrong opinion but whatever floats your boat.

OP disqualify DOTA 2 so he has to come up with a real list.

Tough one, since I don't have a next gen console (yet), or a Wii U. :(

I agree he isn't wrong at all. I have played both editions and the one thing that appears to change the most besides frame rate is the environment details.

1.Mario Kart 8 (most of my gaming time over the summer was spent on it online)
2.Hyrule Warriors (truly surprised me how much I enjoyed it despite what id heard of the Dynasty Warrior Games)
    3.Super Smash Bros
4.Metroid Prime Trilogy (It was my first time playing it this year)
5.South Park The Stick of truth

Bayonetta 2 would probably be on the list but i haven't had the opportunity open the packaging yet with other games to clear first, hopefully over the Christmas break I will.
