thinking about upgrading my phone this year my iPhone 4s isn't just as good as it was before all the shitty updates, so i was looking at the most popular phones, in my area and saw the Samsung galaxy S5 was the best and popular, so just wondering if anybody here has one and tell me their thoughts on it,
I have the S4, and it's, hands down, one of (if not THE) the best phones I've had. The S5 is just just a newer version.
I got the S5 just a few months ago, upgrading from a LG Lucid. I love it. Great battery life, nice screen, high ease of use. One of my friends brother got one first and he loves his as well.
I have an S3, and think it's good. The thing to note though, is moving from iOs to Android might be a bit of a leap. See if you can get ahold of somebodys Android device to have a play with and make sure it's not totally foreign.
I was gonna upgrade from my LG Optimus G Pro to an S5, but now I'm tempted to wait and see about getting an upgrade to the Galaxy Note 4.
Personally I like htc or Motorola android phones. The galexy phones seem to gimmicky. The nexus 6 looks pretty awesome. But I am an ios user and most likly go from my 5 to a 6.
If you're in a position to wait 4-5 months, the S6 can't be far off. Or alternatively, the price of the S5 will prob drop when the S6 is released...
FYI if your moving from iOS to Android. Deactivate your AppleID, if you dont it will cause your new Android to not receive text messages, everything goes through iMessage and will not know you switched til you deactivate it. Your phone carrier wont be able to fix it, its a Apple thing (you'll have to call them to get it deactivated). I myself (had a S2) and currently have a S4 and Note4. The S4 is similar with the Note4 (and in your case the S5) but the newer ones having more options/etc. i couldnt be more happy sticking with the Galaxy line. also iOS and Android and slowly becoming more similar too. iOS just recently got Wifi Calling, landscape mode, NFC, more notification options, etc.
ive had a android phone before and currently have a android tablet and i didn't know i have to deactivate my apple id to get texts
As long as people have it to where it'll send a SMS if iMessage isn't available you'll get the text. It's when people don't it gets messy. As for phones, I'm an iPhone guy, but if you're determined for Android I'd go with the HTC M8. Better build quality than a Samsung, and just overall a nicer phone for the money.
I have always had Andriod phones and has been relatively pleased with my last one, which is a Motorola Droid MAXX. The battery life has been excellent (48 hours). My business partner has the Samsung note 4 and she loves it. As for going from iOS to Android system, other than the texting issue, you would have to be aware if you paid for any of your iPhone apps, you might not have access to them on the Android. Even though the two systems are very similar to one another, the apps can either behave differently or would not be available at all.
That's what I'm leaning towards it or the Note Edge, though the Nexus 6 had me for a while, it lost me when I found it has a non-removable battery.
I was hoping to get a smart phone with a 50MB data package because I don't use my phone for the internet I need the On Star app so I can lock and unlock my new truck. My phone is used 90% of the time for calls and 10% texting. I've had a 25MB data plan for my phone and I'm a year out of my contract with Verizon and in those 3 years I'd bet my new truck that I have not used over 3MB in that total time.
