Not sure if I'll stick with getting a 4s or a 5 (contract ends in July of next year, was debating in getting a Galaxy Mega)... Well... for me, it's a MacBook Pro (I love that thing), iPod Touch and Shuffle (both 2nd gen)
my contract's not up until June '15 so maybe a price drop ($50 usually) by then, regardless I'll probably pick up the 6 64, I've barely any space on my 16 so I won't know what to do with 64 of course by June that also means the 6s or whatever will be just a few scant months away, but I think I can live with that, I lived with the fact I bought a 5 just 4 months before the 64bit jump to 5S
Brah, I read that the 5C is considered to have been a failure for Apple in its attempt to introduce a "cheap" model.
i have an upgrade now so i will sell my 5. its still amazing how much older models sell on ebay. should get 300 easy for it. makes for a nice cheap upgrade. prob go with 128 6, plus is out of control.
I'll have to wait awhile. I'm only eligible for an upgrade via AT&T Next? I'll have to call AT&T tomorrow to see what is up. I want it but not at those prices! I might as well buy an unlocked iPhone 6
Seriously considering grabbing one on EDGE on Verizon. My line access fee drops from $40/mo to $15/mo, saving $25, then the installment payment for the 64GB is only 37.49/mo for 20months. Meaning for $12.49 more than I'm currently paying I get a iPhone 6. Anyone use EDGE here? It seems the lower access fee makes it a pretty decent deal.
Just put on a PO for a space grey 6 Plus 64GB. I was considering the Note4 but cant stand the plastic on the back of Samsung phones.
This is a genuine question, not intended to be imflammatory or anything, but why do people feel the need to upgrade to the latest phone? Right now I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S3, and I'm going to use it until it dies. Prior to that I was using a Sony Erricson Vivaz (one of the first ever phones with an HD camera!) and that's dead (well the touchscreen is all screwed up), prior to that was a Nokia 6230i and prior to that were both N-gages. Aside from the Nokia (which remains an emergency handset) all the other phones suffered some kind of catastrophic flaw which prevented usage. Which returns to my original question, if your current phone works fine and does all you need it to, why buy another one? It just seems that mass consumerism is asking us to bend over and pay out for things designed to trick us out ofour money... but I guess this is a bit hypocritical considering how many Transformers I buy. Hrm.
One thing that may motivate people is that after a certain point, developers start creating or updating apps in such a way that they will only work on the newer hardware and/or iOS platforms that the older models do not support. This is mainly an Apple thing; I've not noticed it a lot with Android, but since they have more OS versions than Apple, I could be wrong.
After 2 years of heavy use, my iphone 5 works but I'd like to upgrade. The battery doesn't hold its charge for as long as it djd, I'm out of HD space, and I travel a lot so I need a longer charge. Plus, it sounds like most people in this thread are upgrading from 4 so they have used their phones for more than the typical 2 year window On point, I hate that phones are getting bigger. I don't want a monster sized phone in my pocket! What happened to getting smaller?
just got mine. No preorder, just went at lunch to the Sprint store. No line. Got the gold 6 64GB. They gave me $230 for my 5, so the phone was $70 plus tax. Brilliant. Haven't really played with it yet, but a couple of things: The curved edges make this thing slippery. Get a grippy case on it as soon as you can (and be careful taking out of the box). It's light. The 6+ store model convinced me the 6 is better. the 6+ is just too big for my preference.
I was dead set on buying a 6+ but after seeing it at Best Buy went with the 6 as well. Too big to be practical.
Different strokes for different folks I guess. I'm eagerly awaiting my 6+ to get here, as a big Iphone is simply just too good to pass up.
I'll second this. It genuinely annoys me. I asked my friend why he upgraded, he said "It's new". I punched him.
^ No unfortunately, how do they feel? From all the reviews that I have read and watched, the phones seem to be fairly comfortable in the hand, albeit the 6+ being a bit unwieldy due to its size.
I've had a 4S for almost 3 years now. My first one died just under a year ago but because I had Apple Care + they gave me a new one (I was like a week away from when the warranty was about to expire lol). It's working perfectly fine right now so I'll wait until it dies before moving to 6. All I really use my phone for is texting, calling and the Starbucks card in my passbook, so I'm all good.
