I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this project. Take a look at the first page of this thread; I'm pretty impressed with the number of molds that we've been able to identify alt modes and scales for. I think I'm up to date with everyone's inputs, but if I've missed something, please let me know.

Gotta say, I'm very glad this thread has lasted this long.

**Although a chunk of the alt's tail still isn't used in the bot mode, this Blackout would be a full 8 feet taller than the Voyager**

Assuming he is in perfect scale with Cyberverse Blackout:

    Scorponok (Voyager): 1/108 Scale

And just for hilarity, assuming he is in perfect scale with Voyager Blackout:

    Scorponok (Deluxe): 1/108 Scale
Toy = 8.25” from head to tip of tail
    Robot Length = 891” (74’)

Did you guys do Universe Silverbolt? Jet mode mode is almost exactly 10" long, and a real Concorde is 202 ft 4 in (61.66 m). That would make the original Aerialbots the largest combiner by far I think.

^That would put Silverbolt at around 1/243 scale. To put that into perspective, RotF's Overload and Hightower are at a somewhat comparable scale (1/232 and 1/257, respectively) and are Legends. So yeah, I'd imagine Superion would be HUGE.
As for largest combiner, I'm not sure. RotF Devastator's made up of 6 massive vehicles + the not-so-gigantic Mixmaster, whereas G1 Superion is made up of 1 ridiculously long but not very chunky jet + 4 average-sized (45'-65') jets. Devy's got a lot more mass to play with.

I would like to note that on tfwiki it says that primes "official" height is 32 feet , wich would make sense considering he was atleast the same heght as starscream in the forest battle and him not being totaly dwarfed by megatron in rotf and dotm so if anyone that has done a scale for prime please consider this for their measurements for example :For deluxe prime his bot mode would be 1/54 to 1/67 scale instead of 1/54 to 1/58.

Sorry, but the official height is 28 ft.
Here's a quote from tfwiki "According to the free trading cards from the Boston Globe, Optimus is 28 feet tall, weighs 4.3 metric tons, and his primary weapon is an ion blaster. (Considering Optimus's height, however, this weight would seem implausible.)"

And here's the ROTF official scale chart (courtesy of tfwiki):

I also have to add that we're determining the robot heights of each transformer from the scale of the toy's vehicle mode, it just so happens that in several cases it matches up with the officially released information. So yes, 1/54 to 1/58 scale is indeed correct for deluxe Prime.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, but I just went on telatraan 1 and it says word for word:
"Optimus is officially 9.75m (32 feet) tall, weighs 4.3 metric tons, and his primary weapon is an ion blaster. (Considering Optimus' height, however, this weight would seem implausible. However, it is worth noting that a Peterbilt 379 actually does weigh 4.3 metric tons. Make of that what you will.)"
So I'm not sure if teletraan 1 is lying but this seems pretty accurate to me, see for yourself.

Personally, I'd just go with what the official scale chart says; teletraan 1 doesn't exactly state the source material for Prime's height. I'm not too sure how much I would trust information from teletraan 1 as it's not as strict about keeping information as "correct" as tfwiki does, but YMNV. Unless there's official material stating that Prime's 32 ft tall, take whatever you get from teletraan 1 with a grain of salt.

I'd trust the scale of the vehicle mode to determine the robot mode height as shown in this thread.

I think you may have gotten the lengths between the Rosenbauer Panther fire trucks mixed up; apparently Rosenbauer makes two different models of the Panther, a 6x6 which is what Sentinel Prime's alt mode is, and a 8x8 variant.

    Sources:
    http://www.rosenbaueramerica.com/media/documents/pdf/Base_6x6_Panther_specification.pdf

    http://www.firebuyer.com/sites/default/files/Rosenbauer_Datasheet_Panther_8x8_HRET_GACA.pdf

With that cleared up I guess, here's Sentinel's revised Scale:

DOTM Voyager Sentinel Prime: 1/74 Scale
    Robot Height = 40 ft

I don't want to be a jerk and just leave a snarky comment, because I really respect and appreciate what you all are doing here.

However, I will say, I don't feel like HA Sideswipe is 1/24 scale. I just bought a 1/24 scale Camaro to stand in for Bumblebee, and Sideswipe seems quite a bit smaller.

Alright, so it turns out HA Sideswipe's scale is indeed correct (1/24 to 1/25). I think the reason as to why HA Sideswipe looked kinda small next to a 1/24 Camaro is because in real life, the Camaro is a beefer and overall bigger car than the Corvette Stingray (and according to the official scale charts, Bumblebee (16ft tall) ends up a foot taller than Sideswipe (15 ft tall) in bot mode, so it makes sense). I think I posted a ROTF scale chart a couple pages back if you want to check. Hope this helps. :)

At least if it's 1/25, that would explain some of the difference.

this may have already been said but as a former truck driver maybe I can shed a little light on how semis are measured. Usually a semi is measured by wheelbase, which is center of the front axcel to the center of the rear axcel. Now, modern box trailers generally come in 48 & 53 foot lengths. This is measured from the front to rear. The trailer's kingpin ( the little nob the connects the trailerto the truck ) is usually 4-5 feet behind the front of the trailer. The trailer connects to the truck's 5th wheel which on most models is moveable.
To simplify things lets say the driver (or Cybertronian) has the 5th wheel set to the center of the semi's rear duals. Measure the length from the center of the front duals to the center of the rear duals and divide by 2. Subtract this from the trucks wheelbase and this should get you the aproximate distance from the front axcel of the truck to to kingpin of the trailer. Subtract 4 feet from the length of the trailer and add this to your previous amount and you should have the distance between the rear of the trailer to the center of the truck's front axcel. Now measure from the center of the truck's front axcel to the front of the truck's front bumper add this to your previous calculations and you should have the entire length of the truck plus trailer.

Thanks for the input, it's always nice to have an expert. I have to admit knowing very little about trucks until I started researching for this project, and I have been quite confused about wheelbase measurements when you're looking at just the tractor. I thought that I understood that it was front axle to rear axle, but when I was looking for a reference for RTS Deluxe G2 Prime, I found specs for an International 9200i that seemed to show the wheelbase being measured from the front axle to the center of the two drive axles, so now I'm confused. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Almost done with the Reveal the Shield Classics...or finally a car scaled to Classics Voyager Optimus Prime.

    Picture from Seibertron.com
Reveal the Shield Scout Windcharger: 1/45
    Robot height = 15 ft
The 2012 Mustang is 181" long, and Windcharger is 4" long, yielding a scale of 1/45. Windcharger appears to be a mix of Mustang, Charger, and Camaro, but all of these cars a similarly sized, so I used the Mustang.

    Picture from Seibertron.com
Reveal the Shield Deluxe Perceptor: 1/44
    Robot height = 20 ft
A long bed F150 is 230" long, and Perceptor is 5.25" long, yielding a scale of 1/44. Perceptor certainly isn't a typical pickup, but the review on Dave's Transformers Page indicates that Perceptors proportions match the long box F150, so I've used that here.

    Picture from Seibertron.com
Reveal the Shield G2 Optimus Prime: 1/45
    Robot height = 20 ft
As seen in the previous post, an International 9200i is a good match for the proportions of the cab of Optimus Prime. The bumper to back of cab measurement of the 9200i is 112 inches, and the cab on G2 Prime is 2.5 inches (estimated, I don't own the toy), so the scale is 1/45.

Contributing a Classics mold for once.

    Hasbro's stock image
Straxus (or, well, Darkmount): 1/71 scale
    Toy's Alt mode= 5.75”; Bot mode = 5.5”
    G6 self-propelled howitzer= 409” (34’)
    Robot Height = 391” (33’)
Although Straxus's alt takes a lot of artistic liberties, it appears similar enough for scale purposes. In fact, one could easily imagine a G6 being modified into what Straxus turns into.

    Aaaand back to Movieverse.

Since Wheelie and Ejector are such small guys in "true scale", I'm being a bit more exact with the sizes (i.e. not rounding up/down the feet measurements as much).
    TFW's Resources
    Ejector: 1/6 scale

Ejector's alt is in fact based on a real toaster, the Dualit 4-slice toaster.

    Tamiya Ford F-350 High Lift RC= 19.4” (1.6’)
    Robot Height = 36.25” (3’)

Now since Wheelie's RC alt is itself a scale model (evidently 1/10, going by Tamiya's site), we can see how big he'd be if he was the real Ford F-350. Monster truck, anyone?

I actually just had out my HA Barricade tonight and compared him to the 1/24 Camaro I have. He seems to be smaller as well.

That's a great find. Once again I assume an alt mode is purely fictional and I'm proven wrong. I have to say I am very impressed with the variety of vehicles that Hasbro has been using lately. This makes two South African military vehicles (Breacher), and as much as I love F-22s and M1A1s, this is a nice change.

Looking at the crew compartment, I think you could make an argument that Straxus/Darkmount is even bigger than the G6, giving it a slightly smaller scale. However, I'm coming to realize that there may be several 'bots that are best represented by a range of reasonable scales rather than a single value.

Take Hailstorm for instance, I can justify anywhere between 1/70 and 1/100 using real world sources, and I just stumbled upon your post in the feedback thread that demonstrates that he works great with Cyberverse Megatron which is right in the middle of that range at 1/84.

    Photo from Noideaforaname

I also found a comparison of Hailstorm and Darkmount that shows they display very well together, but you could probably assume that Darkmount was a slightly smaller scale than Hailstorm if you wanted. That would put the range for Darkmount at anywhere from 1/70 to 1/120 if you wanted to display him (or Skullgrin) with Thunderwing. Any thoughts?

Count me in on the scale obsessed wagon. Here’s a couple of snaps from my movie collection where’s I’ve put the circa 170-1:90 figures together. I think they look pretty good, and the disparity in size between ‘bots and ‘cons in robot mode works for my personal tastes – both reflecting the movies’ attempts at realism and the idea of the good little guys fighting the bigger bullies (which Animated also emphasised really well).
