Iron Maniac, again, really digging your figures. I had posted on Valkfan's Ironhide/Ratchet post about swapping out all of "Ironhide's" blue with a Nemesis Prime swap. Basically, take the black bits from Nemesis Prime and paint a few teal pieces black, silver or red, and then put all the blue bits onto the Nemesis Prime and making a blue/black Trailbreaker out of it. Just a thought. All I need to do is find an out-of-box Nemesis Prime for less than $50 so I don't feel so bad about painting the teal pieces. Wal-Mart is having a ton of Alternators back in stock (I just picked up a spare Skids, Rollbar and Ricochet). Skids may become Soundwave (once Valkfan is done) and Rollbar will lose his head to Trailbreaker and become Inferno, and Ricochet? I am going to attempt a Bumblebee.

Dont know if this has been posted before but i thought it was really cool.

Its printable jpgs that you assemble together. Scaled for use with Alts/MPs too.
Must try this later on tonight

Hey guys,

There's a new high-res folder for downloading. I had to update a few things, they weren't folding right.

HIGH RES FILES FOR DOWNLOAD »

Thanks for all the interest, it's exactly what it was intended for. Display cases, photos, or just to have a freaking ARK and TELETRAAN after 25 years of... well, not having one.

I just checked my web stats and saw it was linked from all over, wanted to make sure everyone had the proper files. The center console on the older version didn't line up, and was about 15% too big. The new one has been color corrected, and everything's been printed out and tested so that it's guaranteed to work.

Enjoy!

Also, I may start a Nemesis soon, but you can always adjust colors in photoshop to change the orange to purple.

Hey guys, I've added some more fun-ness to the Ark/Teletraan files.

HERE'S THE ALL-NEW BACKSIDE »
It's scaled to match up with the body lines of the high-res zip file. So the backside isn't naked.

Alas, a Nemesis interior is in the works:

HERE'S THE FIRST NEMESIS PLATE »

Enjoy!

Teletraan IS a whole lot more detailed, and I'm thinking about going back and redoing the Ark plates so they're more detailed to match. Scaling them down and doubling up should do the trick though.

I've noticed on some of the Chinese sites that I've been tracking (this thing has spread like wild fire, haha) that the guys are printing them out way too big and when they do that, the crappy Photoshop lines show up worse. They look better printed at a finer scale, where it then appears more detailed.

Good job though TB on your display. The only thing I'd suggest to others is perhaps trying to match the scale of the detail a tad closer when you print so that the 2 pieces look like they go together better, although I think TB's done a good job at not scaling UP the Ark backgrounds. Others I've seen have gone a tad big and it starts looking bad at that scale.

Part of it's my fault, since they were essentially 2 different projects where the second one I spent a lot more time on and did a better job, and then it didn't match the first version. Hope everyone posts pics, I'm not going to SDCC, but I have friends going and they're on the lookout to see displays there!

For the background plates I left them the size they were 11 by 17. I printed all ten sheets (5 ark/ 5 background). The total was 11.85 without the tax. The quality was really good.
Thanks Mandingo Rex, you did a great job on these.

More or less I was providing it larger so people could scale it down to fit whatever series they want, be it G1 or Classics or whatever.

Just make sure you scale all files together to the same ratio, or things won't line up!

See? It all fits! haha.

I was worried for a bit, although I DO promise that I have a crappy paper model (not worth showing, but all the edges line up) that I've assembled. I still plan on making a giant MP-scale one, just WHEN is the question. I also don't have the space for it right now, with my recent move to California, and thus a smaller apartment than I had in NC.

As a note, I'm sure WJ knew this and just used the background otherwise (good alternate use of it by the way) but for anyone else, the "wall" behind the Teletraan-I unit is actually meant to be the backside of the console. I'm sure Wheeljack didn't need a stand-alone unit, and this actually works quite well as a separate wall plate.

Hope everyone enjoys it! Check the original Tfans thread for the Nemesis!

As of now, I haven't got any plans of making the chair or any other Ark parts so far until I get some more Nemesis finished (including console) but I very well may make the operator chair and Wheeljack/Ratchet's operating table for the Ark.

Your right Mandingo I did use the back of Teletraan-1 intentionally. At the time of downloading the plates I had not seen the background plates you have provided us with. That minor over site will be remedied shortly.

I do have one suggestion on the plates. On the little pop up monitors I would leave off the bottom of them to reduce the chore in cutting such small pieces. Also, the side panel angles of the pop up monitors don't totally line up, but cutting using the bleed edge can provide a simple remedy if you know what to look for.

Deadend, I reduced the size by 40%. If you reduce it by 55%, 50% or 45% your end result will be even smaller. I suggest a 30% decrease for proper size but as I am happy with the size it is, I will let the next guy do it to see if it works.

Squirrelcar, Thanks for the complement, I'm happy to share with everyone here. On another note I will say Ihsandthecursed is being taken care of. Whether he is capable of doing it on his own or wants to do it on his own is irrelevant. We are all of the same enthusiasm here and should make a friendly effort if someone request a little help. A little kindness can make a big difference no matter how big or small the effort may be. You never know when you might need help.

Depending on construction methods (foam core, or spray-mounting to black presentation board, cardboard, etc...) the way the edges fold could vary slightly as well, so the edges may not be 100% precise for all executions, but a little work with trimming should work. I left enough bleed so folks could also trim things to slightly different angles if they wanted to. Some of the screen's angles can be changed depending on the bottom edge, etc.

Another reason I didn't create tabs either. I figured if needed, people could make their own. Although spray-mounting to stiffer board wouldn't require tabs anyways.

The bottom of the small screens may be a hassle at that scale, at full MP-scale, they hopefully won't be as difficult to assemble. At least that was my plan. I also left the bottom detailed if anyone wanted the panels to be "removable" for "repairs", etc.

Someone who has assembled anything from IKEA before knows that things don't always line up 100%, or follow the instructions exactly either. So think of this as a free IKEA computer desk for Transformers.

This is way better than IKEA. You did an excellent job on the development of this and I am going to resurface a couple of my shelves with these.

My suggestion to others building this it to make sure you score you fold lines on the back side for good clean folds. Use your exacto knife or a pizza cutter if need be. It makes all the difference. I glued this all with Elmer's white glue and applied it with tooth picks. Some spots had to be held snug with scotch tape till the glue dried.

This set really ups the ante for taking photos and displaying collections!
Glad to share with everyone, photos look great! Nice collections, too.

BTW, check out Joe Amaro's modified Joe and Cobra bases he made from my files... it turned out fantastic!

I'm up to Plate #5 now, starting on #6... Then I'll be starting on the Nemesis mainframe. (It needs a name like Teletraan, don't you think?)

I really dig the bigger scale to it like this. Man your work rocks so much. Just need to straighten my one bad side, add the lil pieces, and get more wall pieces printed out and I can do better pictures. These pics were done with just one wall and the Console unit. So I tried to angle it away from seeing the ground and other walls on the shelf lol. At this scale, it's also perefect for WST Soundwave to reenact his accessing of the ark in MTMTE or even Black Arachnia's Acessing of it in BW.

That Glowing sphere in Jetfire's chest is a B-daman ball. I've found they work great for sparks when using a flash. Fits perfectly in Megatron's chest too when not in Gun mode. Blaster himself is a model kit I bought off ebay once I saw what hasbro had planned to do to him. Someday I plan on making him more poseable with better joint parts to keep his transformation intact. But he fits much better than voyapaint blaster and he was only a few dollars off ebay. Also quite fun to build and paint.
Additional post for further resourcing. ~Superquad7
