I finished my Laserwave leg mod. It did not end up being any taller, about the same height as the regular legs. I like it a lot better though, I still wish I could make him a little taller as Shockwave should be.

It still transforms to car normally. Also the legs can still be transfromed into the regular legs. The ankle swivels extend out now to give the right height. The back doors have an extra hinge that allows them to fold over the front of the leg. The seat backs are trimmed on the back so they will fold over the front of the leg. The foot/trunk extends and snaps in place, but also rotates to allow the foot to be posed. The old foot supports are trimmed and now used to support the heel.

Thanks for the compliments. I'll try to put together a how to guide. This mod is not nearly as straight forward as the Prime leg mod. There is quite a bit of changes to be made.

    Here's a quick breakdown.
First I had to make the ankle extend out of the lower leg. I cut out the inside of the lower leg, above the ankle joint to make room for the ankle extension to retract into. Inside the lower leg I also lose the little clicking piece that makes the knees click because I need to make room for the extensions. I put some plasitc washers in the knees to make them tight.

Then I had to make the feet/trunk. The trunk is attached with 2 screws, I only used one and cut out a channel so the one screw can slide back and forth from each screw hole and extend the foot. I heavily reinforced this with an extra piece made from 0.08 styrene sheet and made it tight so it snaps into each screw hole. Since there is only one screw now the foot/trunk can swivel.

Next the back doors have to have an extra joint to swivel forward over the front of the leg. I just cut the connector right where it comes out of the car body and made a new swivel out of black plastic. Now the back doors can swivel in both directions.

Finally I had to trim a couple spots to made everything fold up nice. I cut out the lower back portion of the seats to allow them to fold over the front of the leg. I trimmed down the old foot supports that flip up underneath the old foot. They still flip up in the same position which is now the heel.

I'll do up some photoshops intructions to make sense out of all that.

    Here's the guide.

    Ankle extension
First I had to make the ankle extend out of the lower leg. First make the ankle extension out of a piece of plastic tube and a screw down the middle connecting it to the ankle swivel.

    Foot/trunk

I heavily reinforced this with an extra piece made from 0.08 styrene sheet and made it tight so it snaps into each screw hole. It is important that the peg snaps into each hole to stay extended when standing.

    Back Seats and Heel Supports
Finally I had to trim a couple spots to made everything fold up nice. I cut out the lower back portion of the seats to allow them to fold over the front of the leg. They hug the lower leg and stabilize it.

And after all that you'll get something like this. New pics.
