RiD Hightower modification using Energon Strongarm:

I have modified RID Hightower using Energon Strongarm's arms.
It's a tricky mod. Remove E Strongarm's arms and keep the pins. Make some space inside Hightower and drill some holes to insert the pins. Make the holes bigger so that you have room to make adjustments. To resize the holes, just put putty or epoxy glue inside the holes when the pins are correctly aligned.

(During the posting of this thread originally, some discussion took place that can be beneficial for those wishing to attempt this project. Those comments can be found below. ~Superquad7)

I think all Lego Knights have the same connectors..but I have not been seeing those in stores anymore. I got 4 Knights for the connectors but I took what was available to me. I tried the Neo Shifter joints and they work fine but they are not ratcheted.

EDIT: Keep paint out of those grooves.

Yes so I added some bulk behind his head. When in leg mode, I rotate the head 180 degrees...face backward. The extra bulk behind his head keeps the backpack in place. Landmine's joints are alot stronger than Grindcore...Mold degradation I guess? If Grindcore's arms can't support the weight, it's possible to make them stronger, but don't over do it.

Yeah, the original head should work fine by just rotating it. I forgot that I modified mine

    Sorry..I missed some replies
I only took 1 Lego Knight to do Dev as there is about 4 joints that you can take from it. Why would you want to remove Baricade's combining pegs? Anyhoo, you'll need a soldering irong and heat the metal you see on top. Heat it for 15 secs and try to pull it out. If it does not work, try again for another 15 secs...eventually, it will pull out.

Have no worries, like any toy, the joints can become loose. As for Lego Knights, it applies but you can easely make them tighter. I tried Neoshifter joints but I was already used to the Lego Knights...Didn't see any reason to change the joints. For sure, I'll be using my NS joints on something. I should have used NS joints when I articulated my G1 Dinobots..they do take less valuable space.

Everything was mostly spray painted. If I can't remove a part, I tape it. Areas that can't be spray painted are painted by brush.

F-R, may I add this pics in the "how to" ?

    Energon Steamhammer!

    Seems like it!!!!

I use spray paints for base coat, they are not acrylics. They are mostly enalem and urethane based. For detailing, I use brushed acrylics and finishe the job with a sprayed protective coat.
