As many of you are aware and have commented on, Combiner Wars Skylinx has very poor front leg ratchets. In Sky Reign mode, he flops forward or leans back due to the fact that he has only 4-5 ratchet clicks (on my copy, at least). I came up with a very easy and impressive fix for this issue. (I do have hand tremors so my apologies if the pics are blurry)

    1. You will need two (2) Phillips Head screwdrivers: a small one and a very tiny one. You will also want to obtain some sheet Styrene from your local hobby shop that is no thicker than a note card. I used Evergreen Scale Models brand; I am a Model Railroader usually have some on hand for kit-bashing. Lastly, you will need a nice sharp hobby I knife; I used a flat blade X-Acto knife, but anything sharp will work.

    2. I suggest transforming him into torso mode for this fix. Start by removing the shuttle pieces and head from the main body. There are two very tiny screws that hold Sky Reign's butt/crotch plate together. Be very careful when you remove these screws as their threads can easily be stripped. I suggest taking some pics on your phone as you are taking him apart as his head can be confusing when reassembling him.

    3. Inside the rear/crotch plate you will find two (2) white teeth parts that are the culprit in this matter. The teeth parts don't sit high enough to make contact with their ratchet gears, resulting in the poor ratcheting points.

    Here is the culprit:

    4. The next step is to remove the teeth plates using a pair tweezers. Be mindful as they are seated very snug and can go flying when they pop out...trust me!:

    5. Place each tooth part on the sheet styrene right side up. Draw around them with a fine tip Sharpie marker or pen. Using your hobby knife, carefully cut each piece of styrene out and crop their ends slightly. The teeth parts themselves are angled on the bottom and we want the styrene pieces to sit under them in the rear/crotch plate. Think of these new pieces as booster seats for the teeth parts so they can make better contact with their ratchet gears.

    6. Place the new styrene pieces under the teeth parts in the rear/crotch plates as previously mentioned:

    7. Finally, you can now reassemble Skylinx, being ever so careful not to strip the screw threads.

If you did everything right, your Skylinx and/or Sky Reign will now have perfect 100% tight hip ratchets.

I hope you all found this post helpful and informative!
