Hiya, kids - These A) aren't mine, and B) are En Espanol, but they're the first reviews I've seen. The box is just exceptionally clever. The Box and Overview Snarl Strafe Slug [URL="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irRNc0h5bzM&list=UU_9XNQkQ5NkJPmrIXeZgEHw"Grimlock[/URL]
Really nice to see this review. Good Job, Optibotimus. Is there any way you could post some stills of the inside of the mountain / volcano...areas that were too dark to get while shooting your review?
Great review....so glad I spent the coin on the Ebay price! Should be here this weekend! Paul: does the front part where Tele-1 is support the weight of the figures? (and without sliding down towards the railing?)
Great review, Optibotimus! Beautiful set! That Mount St. Hilary/Ark box is huge!!! I wouldn't even know how to display that. I'd like to get the figures, but I'm not desperate enough to spend that much money on some AOE repaints. Hopefully they'll reissue them as a platinum edition set later on. If not, I can live with not owning these.
It's possible, i haven't looked and it's not mentioned at all in the instructions. Mind you, the instructions that come with this set have all 4 figures printed on one page. The instructions for the retail version of Snarl may have the weapon combination you're talking about
I got my set of this today, and I have a question or two for anyone else that has it. On mine the glue seems to have came unstuck from various areas. I've not fully checked it but the most obvious ones are as follows; In the upper-left of the Ark, there's an arm bit that attaches somewhere. Can someone show me where it actually attaches. When I tried to remove the Dinobot drawer I couldn't pull it out. Upon inspection I found what could only be described as two structural bits of cardboard had fallen out. One was a sheet about he same size as the drawer, but with a square support attached to it, the other was a square tube. Does anyone know where these attach inside the box? I'll admit that the box creaked as I unfolded it, almost like the glue coming unstuck. There was no ripping noises, just the creaks. Any help will be gratefully appreciated.
You will need to perform a little maintenance on various areas of your Ark as time goes on, depending on where these things occur. The BEST thing I've done to mine, which still holds things upright nicely, is to provide some support under the two ramps on either side. Doing so will prevent the droopy nature of this set from becoming worse as time goes on. (thanks for gravity) I simply rolled up two pieces of cardboard and then slide them under the ramps until they fit in snuggly; at this point they almost became triangular rather than their original rounded shape. You will notice a drastic uplift in your Ark set; almost like giving it a facelift. lol THAT, along with a little crazy glue in various spots will keep your Ark nice and nice. This helps too: (do this exact thing in any points of contact that come undone) http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/tutor...-you-got-droopy-sdcc-dinobots-ark-box-eh.html
