This figure is better than the 1st Edition but it suffers from some of the same problems.

The head rocket gimmick is not one of those problems.

His transformation actually looks really fun. I'm happy to know that.

Are his tires rubber? It looks like it.

Love the robot mode, Hate the Truck mode.

Now that I know the head might pop off when transforming him, I think I should only get Grimlock.

Yeah, because it happened once means it will happen all the time on all the figures...

It actually looks like a fun figure, even if it doesn't look like the movie model too much (which is understandable since it's impossible). I just wish the megabackpack would fold up at least a bit more.

Same as Grimlock, I was pleasantly surprised at how interesting the transformation itself looks, even if (in Grimlock's case) the altmode leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks BaltMatrix, you're a cool reviewer.

the backpack could've slid together more and made a super compact wheelpaxk but the rest of him looks great so i can deal. love the leg transformation. if it goes on clearance and i find a suitable head i'm gunna have a hard time not buying one to make into rodimus...

Backpack stick things aside, I can dig it. The truck looks a little bland and I wish he had blue light piping, but overall it looks nice.

I think that if the backpack was engineered to compress and be compact more than it is, it would be an even greater figure. Maybe someone on Shapeways can make a re-engineered backpack for him. As it is, it's decent.

But I'm still getting the TakaraTomy version. ;)

Same here, I'll be popping the out and giving them a gloss black coating.

Giving it the benefit of the doubt, for it being a new form for Prime it looks alright, just not liking that it is simple compared to the other movie leader figures.

Hopefully movie fives leader Prime is up to par with RotF. Or Takara throws a bone and does a DMK-03 Lost Age Prime

I find that I don't dislike it as much as I thought I would. I even kind of, dare I say it, think it looks kinda neat! But I am a pretty big Optimus fan.
I think I'll be getting the Takara version of this though. The paint apps just make the thing look infinitely better on it

I have a feeling this would have a better reception priced as an ultra class figure. As a leader figure it seems $15 overpriced.

Pretty surprised over the differences with the 1st edition. Sculpt is decent but for articulation, as with the FE, for a swordsman prime it's disappointing that this lacks hinged wrists.

Looks fun. May buy it just for the fun factor and is easy enough for my son to figure out.

I'm so glad I didn't buy FE Optimus Prime, Leader Prime will be a one of the first AOE figures I'll be buying.

That was the 1st time it happened and since then it's happened about four or five times.

Will it happen on all figures? I doubt it. But it's still funny as hell.

The head launch was really funny.Vehicle looks great with chrome on all the right places.Too much kibble in robot mode and my understanding is he is smaller than the previous movies leader class figures?
