This set has caused a little bit of controversy. I posted the pictures earlier but here's the full video review...

YouTube - Video Review of the Crazydevy.com G1 Predaking Wing upgrade(CDMW-11)

Here are the pictures of the damage that this set caused...

The damage caused was done by putting the set on the very first time and removing it. When removed i instantly noticed the damage. I'm going to be sending crazydevy my video as well as these pictures...and i hope to update this thread with an email directly from them, to me.

i think these look, too big.

and that is shitty that it will ruin the original wings. i would be sooooo pissed. and how would they not know this? they had to have tested the fitting of this tons of times.

    yikes.

For the amount of profit this guy has made on these add-ons, you should at LEAST be compensated for a replacement Divebomb. There's no excuse for them not testing the finished product in-house before sending kits for reviewers.

And with all the extra weight these parts will add to 25-year-old toys, I don't trust the combiner joints to properly be able to hold itself up. Check your connectors very carefully for stress marks as you weigh it down with all this tonnage. I wouldn't risk my vintage OR my reissue Predaking. The diecast alone is heavy enough to make arm poses tricky.

Disgraceful. 1. They should've noticed this before 2. That's a VERY Expensive toy 3. But TBH, those giant wings look great :)

BS. I don't like how it almost requires you to get future add-ons to make everything look proportionate either.

I couldn't agree more. There really isn't any excuse for it. In an email another board member got, they basically said that any damage caused was because the person putting the upgrade set on, didn't use "artisan skill". That actually fairly annoys me that they'd put the blame on my shoulders.

Great review optibotimus, thanks! What I was thinking maybe they will send out 2 extra black wing parts that are slightly thinner and harder instead of some sleeves. They do look great though. I've ordered the wings but skipped the head. But now I want the head as well!

Many thanks optibotimus! this is a super useful review with a ton of good info, I got to really think about this set now, its cool, but sucks for a vintage divebomb to get jacked up like that. Maybe people should use a ko divebombs wings i don't know, that gets expensive quick though.

As always, love your reviews. Secondly, as a St. Louis born and raised fella, I understand the love of supporting different sport teams. I love my Cardinals, however when it comes to hockey, I'm a die hard Red Wings fan. That being said, how you go about wearing a Detroit Tigers hat with a NY Rangers jersey? Come on! Just thought I'd lighten the mood here on this sad thread, yet very informative.

What?! Unofficial 3rd party stuff has poor quality and in this case breaks your original toy?!

    Lol

Sorry about your toy. Maybe people will finally see all these upgrade kits are all about profit and not fan service as they claim as this "company" blames you for their shitty product.

Let's be perfectly fair here...I'm sure it's possible to turn a profit with a good product that doesn't damage your original toys. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first review of a TF third-party add-on that didn't receive an A+ review.

As for CrazyDevy's response to the situation...at least from what we've heard, it's a "non-apology apology," sorta like how some celebrity will say something offensive and then say "sorry if you were offended." Time will tell if their protective parts make up for the situation.

On a more important note: KITTEN!

    Thanks for the review.
I was worried that would be an issue when I first saw it coming out.

I also have concerns with the TFX-04 Protector Trailer add on kit.
The back Wing extensions slide over the originals.
Now I cant see an issue with the US version except for maybe a little scraping. But the Henkei version may have an issue with the gold chrome.

I could be over thinking this and FansProject has probably thought about how to avoid this from happening. I did buy the CrossFire X2 set and I love it! I was truly amazed by the quality.

Great review! Thanks for the heads up. And appreciated the little add-on video to clarify your view on the set. Well articulated your thoughts. Will wait for the upgrade review.

Love the kitten by the way. :lol
